    Scottish Bands

Living in Australia the last 4 years, I’m feeling totally out of the loop.

Any decent bands from Scotland over that time I may have missed? Just stumbled upon Mastersystem the other day, the Frightened Rabbit/Editors side project.

Vida - band from Alloa who are almost as if The View & The Verve had a baby. Lead singer is a Hibby as well.

The Snuts - band from West Lothian who are really good. Can’t really think of a comparison but well worth a listen.

The Rah’s - band from Prestonpans with at least 2 Hibbies.

Retro Video Club - band from Edinburgh with a couple of Hibbies (Liam Fontaine likes them).

I'll give them another vote - thought they were no bad until I seen them live.. now think they are quality.

Sergeant are the closest sound I can think of but snuts are probably more upbeat and energetic.

I don’t think so mate. Far as I’m aware they haven’t been for a few years now but could be wrong.

I seen them support oasis around a decade ago and liked them.

    The Shambolics.

Haven't heard more than a few songs but "When she goes home" is a tune.

Out Lines - the project from James Graham of the Twilight Sad and Kathryn Joseph had a great album.

Young Fathers' latest was another belter.

If you like a bit of funk, JBIA (James Brown Is Annie) are worth a listen.

James Brown is Annie if you like a bit of Funk, got a brand new album out.

Indigo Velvet from Leith as posted earlier, seen tham at Bathgate park couple of months ago, sort of tropical indie vibe.

Anchor Lane, pretty decent young rock band from Glasgow, got a Le Zeppelin feel to their music.

Ella's Brother, Edinburgh lad Raff Eragona, who was the singer songwriter of the Edinburgh band OK Social Club, now doing solo stuff.

The 10:04's from Edinburgh who are starting to go onto bigger things.

Cheers mate, had a quick run through the album but will have to give it another go, a good bit different to their previous stuff 👍

The Snuts are fantastic, frontman Jack Cochrane bottle of Buckfast in hand is the real deal. Watch out for their rise to the top.

If you're looking for something a little heavier, Halo Tora are a pretty good up and coming Glasgow based band.
