Finding a half decent property to rent..impossible!

Whats going on, is it usually this difficult to find a place to rent? I know its Festival time but I've been looking for months and months. Anything that is half decent gets snapped up instantly. Prices seem ridiculous whether on the outskirts or in the city centre. So many student flats aswell. Frustrating. Sadly buying aint an option for me just now either.

Look into mid market rent. It's a bit of effort but if you meet the criteria the rent is a bit cheaper than the private market.

If commuting is an option look at East and West Lothian as well. I had a 1 bedroom flat on Broughton Road until last year and for less money I could have had a 2 bedroom semi detached with a garden just outside Linlithgow.
