I don't usually do predictions, but I have a horrible feeling Molde will be a far different proposition at home than they were at Easter Road, especially if they do have their main man back in attack as seems to be the case. That allied to the plastic surface they are used to playing on, I'm guessing they play on quite a few away from home too given Norway's climate, and I cant see this being anything other than a bridge too far for Hibs. I'm guessing 2 - 0 or 3 - 1, hopefully no worse than that.

Folk are saying don't mention the loss of SJM, but the fact is he was the utter fulcrum for our success in the last round and his absence is a big loss. Its also a fact that we have a raw and inexperienced ( though admittedly a star of the future ) kid in the very heart of our defence, a midfield who have barely met each other, possibly our third choice keeper in goals ( though I do think that on his day he's decent ) and a main striker who is carrying an injury.

Given all that, if we do manage to somehow negotiate our way into the next round it will be one of the best results the club has had this century IMO.

It is Hibs we are talking about so you never know though
I was saying this last week that you often see this in european ties. They come over and look stuffy without being brilliant and get a result that suits them okay... and then are far more comfortable and penetrating once they're back at home knowing what they have to do.

Come on Hibs - first goal pleeeeease, however it goes in.

We need to score at some point anyway, them scoring doesn't change that.

(other than a 0-0 taking it to pens)
    Mon the Hibs.

Changes the dynamic of the tie considerably though if they score first.

Exactly Ronnie, we were the better team in the first leg, and probably gave them too much respect.
Nothing to fear if we take our chances.
Although Artificial Pitch isn't ideal and we can do without more injuries so could.play on players minds and if Flo has the swollen knee will he risk him in that surface
Hopefully we get decent time to train on it

Gut feeling says we aren't going through.

Just can't see them being as toothless as they were last week.

This is probably the toughest European game i can remember us playing. I'd fancy Molde to knock out any Scottish side.

They defeated Ronnie Delia's Celtic 3-1 over there in 2015 - that said, they also got a win at Parkhead which is something they couldn't achieve at Easter Road!

I'm in two minds about how tomorrow night might go, but I do fear that the surface will provide an unfair advantage - looking at the stats, they very rarely lose or drop points at their home stadium.

I thought their young striker Haaland had joined Red Bull Salzburg but it looks like he's being loaned back and can play against us.

That, combined with home advantage, the plastic pitch and their additional match fitness means sadly I think they'll win comfortably.

Where are folk honestly getting 3 or 4 nil humpings from? I thought Molde were bang average at very best.

    2-1 Hibs.

I cant remember the last team that beat us 'comfortably' and we always seem to be in a game....especially since NL took over. Im going 1-1. Fingers crossed.

Home to Hamilton and away at Pittodrie, only 2 I can think of from last season

That's probably a good thing as the pitch will probably play better.

They're favourites now, but I don't think a score draw is out of the question.

3-1 Molde unfortunately, plastic pitch will not suit us.

  19. #108
4-1 molde I think they were a bit conservative the first leg and are better than they showed. I reckon being quite a bit into their season will prove to be the difference

Glad to see you think we will go through. Have you seen much of Molde?

Think the team will have to play out of their skins to go through. Molde looked very capable to me in the first leg, and I fear they may play quite a different (less cagey) game tonight.

That said, Hibs to go through with a 7-0 victory.

0-0 Hibs. Not sure how penalties will turn out.

Looking at bet 365, we're a shade over 4/1 to win. So clearly the bookies think we're toast.

How are the odds on a score draw looking?

Not sure, but to be fair we're only 11/8 to go through

  28. #117
Not too confident TBH I think we will get overrun in midfield, molde looked like they were good at keeping the ball and may well pick us off by lack of concentration in midfield and defence.
Counter attack is important as I think we are good for a goal but I get the feeling we might just fall short by 2-1 molde.
But the optimist in me says 1-1

Stevie Mallan 20/1 first goal is a tempting price.

I literally just stuck a score on this!

Quietly optimistic - 2-2, Mallan brace.
