Read it again. It’s a fact our performances and results will not be as good

It’s my opinion we’ll not finish higher than fifth.

    Simples
Not as good as the first half of the season or the second half? Because they are very different things. Maybe we will be better than the first half of the season but not as good as the 2nd? That could still result in us finishing 2nd.
You say our midfield is not as good but our forward line is surely better than it was in the first half of last season?
Mallan may not be Mcginn but I bet he scores more goals and gets more assists.
It’s not a fact that our results and performances won’t be as good. There is no way of knowing. You are just talking mince.

You can’t lose players of the quality of sjm and dm,Allan and Barker

Without a drop in performances and results. It’s just a fact.

    Celtic
    Rangers
    Hearts
    Aberdeen
    Hibs

That’s how the league will look come end of the season.
Why do you follow Hibs? What have Hearts done this season that commands your respect? You have them 3rd on what basis or evidence? Wind up merchant.

It’s not ‘simples’ if you add “fact” at the end of your post. It’s purely an opinion...For the start of a season with European football, new players in, best player gone, rotating squad, more players to come in...........it’s a guess at best based on nothing. We could be great we might not.....simples (do folk even use that term any more??)

It has improved. Shaw not type of player like mixu or a Flo where you can bang it long and he can fight the centre halves. Oli has lots of other qualities. McLaren will need to be at it because oli is pushing hard to start
I’m not seeing the side of Kamberi’s game you’re describing. He’s tall but not at all a target man for me and quite often lets guys get in front of him quite easily whereas Oli has been good at backing into defenders and controlling balls into him before laying it off. Not criticising Flo but I just dont think that’s his game.

Do you not think Shaw’s hold up play has been considerably better than Kamberi’s so far this season?
Shaw has been considerably better than both Jamie Mac and Flo thus far imo...Kamberi is obviously not firing on all cylinders with this knee injury and Jamie Mac doesn't look fit yet neither. We need to sign a 4th striker imo for cover and preferably as u say a big target man

I presume you thought Mallan was dreadful then and Hyndman?? Coz imo Whittaker was streets ahead of them both today and as i posted earlier I am no fan of Whittaker but he's getting a raw deal of some

And thats if we can finish above Kilmarnock... But, If we can get everybody fit, sharp and we work out a playing system that suits the new squad I'm hoping we can compete for 4th or even 3rd. Agree that the players we have lost make it hard.

A "fact" can only be established after the event, otherwise it is mere "opinion" (which is subjective)
It is thus your "opinion" that the table you "predicted" will manifest itself.

Presume whatever you want because if you think Whittaker was “streets ahead” of anyone today then your opinion is unlikely to be one I’d value.

You said he was dreadful and that just wasn’t the case.

I agree he wasn’t streets ahead of anyone right enough. But if he had given the ball away inside his own box, like Mallan did for their goal, he’d be getting absolutely slaughtered. A Whittaker error seems to be magnified compared to others these days and you could feel that in the stands at the game today.

Any stray pass from Whitty was jumped on by boy behind me your swear words Whitty. Then other players making mistakes nothing was said .

2 league games gone and the doom mongers are out in force.

Was just gonna say that actually Mallan cost us a goal today...imagine if Whittaker had made that error ...

Sorry, but that was a crap result. It’s those type of results which mean you finish 4th at best..

Whittaker was as good as any Hibs player today. Anyone singling him out has an agenda from previous mistakes. Good performance from him without doubt.
Guy is a good player who has served Hibs well over a number of years it seems a little odd so many seem very keen to criticise him. He is unlikely to be a regular starter however can play a number of positions well and is definitely an asset to the team.

So were there any standouts today?

Really doesnt mean anything....If theres a consistent pattern of results yes, if theres a consistant pattern of better results no...If theres a mix of results with some better we still do better...Who knows. we got an away point, not great but means nothing yet.

Was just about to post the same. Ridiculous to make calls like that on players who have hardly kicked a ball for us so far.
Absolutely! On some Facebook Hibs groups players were being judged BEFORE they even had kicked a ball for Hibs. I dared to question their 'opinion' only to be told to get to **** or similar. I resigned!

Why do you think his errors are magnified? Is it personal, has Whittaker wronged everyone individually away from football? Or, is it possible that there is a lot more of them so people are less forgiving?
Nobody is picking on him, he’s a well like individual among Hibs fans. It’s just that he is struggling to play this level now.

Sorry but it is certainly not crap, to basically condemn the team & the potential end of season league placings based on 2 games, as you are, is a nonsense.

We do love a boo boy.

However, I’m sure SW has broad enough shoulders to cope with a bit of grumbling.

If you think Whittaker doesn't get picked on you haven't been to many matches of late?? Listen let's be clear on this I'm far from his biggest fan, I wasn't even first time around. I just thought he done well enough today and not deserving of some of the comments on here...he was the one driving us forward the last 10 to 15 today. Anyway I'm out for the night...this place is off it's nut tonight - going by some of the comments you'd think we'd lost 5 0 today.

We’re two games into the season, got a number of new players to integrate into the team and the transfer window isn’t even shut yet.

Obviously we have lost some real quality in midfield but the bed wetters can do one.
