sometimes he looks quite good at holding it up then other times not so great, that will come with experience and age though, he is a good back up striker just now

Shaw was like a school kid today. Not ready to be msin man against thst level of opposition, unfortunately. He is a great prospect but definitely need another experienced striker.

Kenny miller is my guess.... but would be happy with shankland

Shaw will never be a big physical prescene. Nor will McLaren. They need to play off a big target man

That’s not the point. I’m not expecting him to be a big physical presence. I do expect him to have a basic level of core strength that means he won’t be easily nudged off the ball and bullied. Maclaren has that. Riordan (who has a similar build to Shaw) developed it. Shaw doesn’t have it yet.

Deek never had that. Deek never played as focal point of attack. Oli held ball up on many occasions today. Up against four defenders all above six feet. He will improve.

Shaw is getting used as a stop gap till the injuries subside. He tries his best and its valuable experience for him. Once Kamberi is fit he will be in. Just glad we have 2 youngsters who have came in and given their all for the team.The futures bright with Shaw and Porteous ready to stake their place, in the end it will save us cash and in Porteous case will give us the next big fee
