Thread: The Open 2018

    The Open 2018

Surprised there isn't already a thread on this (unless I've missed it!).

Things well underway now in seemingly perfect conditions.

    Come on Sergio

The commentary team on Tiger's group are awful. As in, BBC level awful.

A bit of wind, combined with the hard, dry surface, and Carnoustie is going to bring a lot of them to their knees. Decent start by Tiger. Looks very calm and is striking the ball and putting well early on.

So a day and a half in to it, who's everyone backing to go on and win?

    Kisner

Admittedly only after he was leading last night.. for an interest as was still a fairly high price.

Hopefully this will be Ricky Fowler's year, he's on a charge right now so fingers crossed. Also backed Jordan Spieth to win, Matt Southgate and Chris Wood each way.

It's already building up to what looks like a close finish on Sunday.

    Fleetwood.

He knows how to play links golf in all conditions, so will deal with whatever the weekend throws at him.

Some good scoring today, great round by Justin Rose. This is set up very nicely for a Sunday where there are a large group of players in with a shout.

That was a fantastic day's viewing, I can't wait for the final round tomorrow and it will be even more interesting if the wind gets up. Much as I like going to the Open Championship, there's no place better to watch the final day's play than sitting at home in front of the box with a couple of beers.

Was going to go up tomorrow and spend a nice day watching the golf, but at £90 to get in I'm now considering watching it on the telly.

As much as I enjoy going to the golf, can't beat the final day on Tele seeing all the action unfold.

Molinari looking very focused, I fancy him to sneak this.

This is absolutely amazing viewing! 6 players all joint 1st as I type. Leading players seem to be taking turns to mess up.

Shaping to be an exciting finish. Good chance it'll go to a playoff.

If it's a 6 way play-off do they all play together? Could be messy

Last 4 holes are key. I fancy 1 of them to go a couple under on them and that will win the prize.

    Fancy Molinari myself.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

I cashed out on Molinari during the final round and stuck it all on Speith, just before he double-bogeyed the 6th.

    Not my finest move.
