Irdning, a village in Austria with a population of 2,750.
What on earth were Everton playing them for?

So they would have a slight chance of winning

What an utterly pointless exercise that was. They would have been better playing their own youth team.

Whoever organised that at Everton needs shot. No benefit for either team.
We do our level best to try and make sure that never happens at kids football. For it to happen at professional level should be a sacking offence.

There were all manner of bonkers scores in the friendliest today. A couple of 13’s a 14 and a 15-0 in Italy alone. Hearts killed Forfar also by beating them 5-1
Never one to laugh at others misfortune but today could only have been improved by rangers getting horsed and God pissing down a meteor shower of fifty pound notes on Edinburgh

CWG is probably old enough to have been at the Arbroath vs Bon Accord game which ended 36 - 0........

Doesn't help when your defender scores an own goal from about 25 yards. Lobbed the goalkeeper. Highlights are on You big Tube.

The Hungarian side of the 1950s, Puskas et al, sharpened their skills by playing totally inferior opposition and giving them a good skelping.
It was a well known practice in those days.
Must be coming back into fashion.

As I'm a bit bored, I thought I'd post a wee photo of the urban metropolis that is Irdning.
Went a wee holiday a few years back to Bad Mitterndorf, which is quite close to Irdning. Absolutely gorgeous part of the world and would thoroughly recommend it as a relaxing holiday destination... though it's not exactly famed for it's football teams ;-)

Showed some of the goals on the news this morning, the last goal they showed, the Everton player is coming through on goal and the keeper walks to the side to leave an open goal?????
