    Hibs Interviews

Who is it that conducts the Official Hibs interviews?

I’m sure they volunteer their time but it’s one area that really lets the coverage down.

I personally see no problem with the interviews.

Footballers aren't really known for being great interview subjects.

Happy enough with the interviews. They are bound to be a little awkward with a couple footballing cliches chucked in.
Only thing I'd say about the interviewer is not to ask questions about something the player has just covered in his previous answer. Noticed Mallan had to repeat himself a couple times. Don't know if he had list of questions already written down and he was ploughing on regardless with them.

Got to say I agree with the op. He can hardly get through a sentence without saying “eh” multiple times and repeats the same questions over again, even if the player has answered! He takes over commentary on Hibs TV when Cliff isn’t around & I’ve had to turn it off every time because it’s so hard to listen to!

I don't know what people expect. Most football related interviews are nothing special. "So you'll be happy to have won that match?", You'll be disappointed to have lost that match? "," You'll be delighted to have scored that hat trick", etc.

The interviewers can't ask the questions we really want to hear - "Neil, how much of a dick IS Craig Levein?" or "Marvin, did you really stick your finger in that boy's starfish?"

Unless there's a bam like Cummings in front of you, there's not much you can do with a standard football interview.

I just cant listen to his interviews. The players have to answer multiple versions of the same question.

I wish the guy well and bet he is brilliant behind the scenes, but as the years go on the interviews just don't get any better.

The guy we had before was a really good interviewer. He was English I’m sure. What happened to him?

Tom Zanelli. He's working for the football league now I think. Search him on Twitter.

I believe he was head of the digital marketing/media side of things. He created and presented Outside the Box etc. Got headhunted by Marathon Bet.

Tend to agree. The guy that did Mallan's has got a bit better from his "how much did you enjoy..." Questions but not a great deal. Repetitive.

I think its more a case of Cliff Pike being really good at it that you notice it more when hes not around. fair play to anyone who does this job im really greatful to them all at hibs media side of things, keeping us informed 24/7 all things hibs.

There’s no story to the questions either; no proper adaptation. Just seems to be a set list of questions that’s asked as opposed to the questions being influenced by the interviewee’s responses.

So Stevie your first goal in senior football was voted goal of the season! what do you remember about that goal at dens?

One of your early team mates was our John McGinn, what was John like in the changing room, quiet, loud?

What was different living in around Barnsley as opposed to Glasgow?

You seem very good a striking a dead ball, is that a gift or a just a lot of hours practice, any tips for our wanna be players?

We have a good squad at Hibernian, is there any particular role in midfield that you prefer?

    .......

This took approx 2 mins research and 2 mins to come up with a few questions.

Have to agree don't like to be critical of a volunteer giving his time and a true supporter but his voice is a bit wishie washie and style not the best. Sorry.

I said it at the time but I thought the interview with the new goalie from Liverpool was cringeworthy. I thought he was going to ask him what he has for his tea?

I appreciate the The Guy is only trying to do his job perhaps should brush up his technique or ask more interesting pertinent questions.

I think one of his questions was along the lines of being a Hungarian have you ever heard of HIBS?

    Cmon !

He has been in England for about 10 years and was alive in 2016!

Us lot will find anything to moan about. The boy does it all spot on imo. And the issue with “eh’s” and stutters has actually came up before and addressed by the guy himself as he politely told us he in fact had a bad stammer when younger and it was a hangover from that I believe.

Keep up the good work everyone at Hibs TV. Love it.
