Anyone know anything about Paddy Cannon ex Hibs coach 1902?

Paddy was my great, great grandfather. Unfortunately i never met him but my dad (who's 84) remembers him well.
He talks about visiting him as a wee boy and being in awe of all the trophys that Paddy had in his house from his running exploits.
Paddy was a legend in his own time, breaking many running records whilst being roared on by huge crowds (see link for excellent article)
One of his sons Tom Cannon was a player/trainer for Hibs. He also worked at ER as a groundsman, my old boy used to give him a wave
at half time when Tom was out forking the pitch. I've been meaning for a while to get in touch with Alan Lugton who wrote some
fantastic Hibs history books to see if he has any more info and photos of Paddy. Thanks for bringing him up, he deserves to be talked about!

Wonderful article & great thread. Although I was born after Paddy died I grew up hearing stories about him & his son Tom & their fantastic service to Hibs. Lovely to read something that's not angst about our transfer business!
