    HSL and The Hibs Club

    Hibernian Supporters Association

Hibernian Supporters Ltd ( HSL ) are delighted to confirm the continued support of the Hibernian Supporters Association ( Hibs Club ).

From the very beginning HSL have enjoyed the very generous support of the Hibs Club and their lump sum donations in the past have helped us to progress. This support will now continue as a result of the Hibs Club committing to a £100 monthly donation to the cause.

Commenting on this latest initiative, Colin Rich, Club Treasurer said “ We have always intended to continue our financial backing of HSL as we can all see the real difference it is making to the quality of players we are attracting. We have had a number of expensive items to deal with at the Club over the last eighteen months therefore we had to wait until these were out of the way before we could confirm what we could do going forward. HSL is proving to be a fantastic way of getting extra money into the Club and we would encourage all of our Members, who are in a financial position to donate, to give this their consideration.”

HSL are also delighted with this and Director, Jackie McNamara added “ The Hibs Club have always been great friends of the Football Club and have generously supported them over the years. It’s great to see this continue via HSL and we are of course very grateful to them and all of their Members for this fabulous support.”

Would be really beneficial to attract some of these ‘quality players’ real soon.

Sorry but that is a pathetic contribution, certainly not worthy of a major announcement As for the quote from Jackie MacNamara" The Hibs Club have been great friends of the Football Club" Friends? WTF?

Any contribution is good imo, I doubt that the hibs club make an obscene amount of money each year but its just being highlighted that the club is contributing to the cause as well and they obviously appreciate the support?

Sorry you think this is "pathetic" Crash.

To provide some context, the generous support mentioned in the statement includes a one off donation of £15,000 when HSL was first set up. Additional one off amounts have been donated at other times when The Hibs Club has been approached by HSL. Obviously this doesn't include any support provided by our individual branches at the discretion of their committees and members.

Since that first donation we have also entered into The Hibs Club's first ever official sponsorship agreements with Hibs over the last few seasons, while continuing to support the football club more directly as and when we can.

At the same time we have our own premises to run. Over the period that we've been supporting HSL this has included extensive rewiring and fireproofing, which cost around £50k, and an upcoming refurbishment to improve the facilities we provide for our members, the Hibs family and the wider community.

The current Trustees have done this while working at all times to try and ensure that relations between HSA and the football club remain positive and supportive. The decision to make an ongoing monthly contribution won't stop us from making further one off donations to either HSL or HFC in the future, but it will ensure that we continue to provide some financial support to HSL - and, by extension, HFC - at all times rather than in an adhoc nature.

You shouldn't have to justify yourselves, but well done on a sensible and considerate post

    Crash

The great thing about freedom of speech is that it does allow the ill informed and ill mannered to be seen and heard.

As the recipients of this very kind and generous contribution we simply want to reiterate our sincere thanks.

I also know that many members of the Hibs Club contribute personally to HSL.

Agreed, and let's try and help make that happen. While £10 pm may not sound very much if we join in larger numbers we can collectively make a difference. You can join here www.hiberniansupporters.co.uk
We have the opportunity here to influence what players we can get.
