Something has come up that means I can’t go to Greece now so there should now be a room available in the Arcadia (Tripolis) on booking.com

There looks to be a bit of interest on a couple of Hibs groups. Worth watching.

I am thinking Athens and hiring a car or tagging onto a bus. I'd like to know if the Faroes was a goer first though. I'm keen on there.

    A couple I've seen are:

    We Are Hibs

    Hibs Supporters Group

It's a pretty easy search if you are on Facebook.

Don't know the actual guesthouse but it's in Sorvagur, which is just a few mins drive from the airport (same island). It's the wrong direction for the game but only by 5 mins. It looks pretty nice - hope it works well for you. It's a nice enough wee village with some fine views. I'm getting jealous now as I can't go this time.
What would be best way to get from Sorvagur to Toftir, would a taxi there and back be ridiculous?
Are there buses that do that route?
    Any help appreciated.

Are people just assuming the game, should we get through to Greece, will be on the second?

It’s not absolutely definite until Hibs announce it (occasionally home/away are swapped if they clash with other games), but the draw has us home in the first leg, so it should be 2nd August.

As with booking before we’ve played the first round, it’s a calculated gamble.

Any idea when it is likely to be announced?

For anyone interested in an alternative route to athens.

Can do glasgow - zante on wednesday
    Thursday morning Zante - athens

    Return
Either sunday or nonday ( both options available )
    Athens - zante
    zante - edinburgh

    comes in just over £300

Or can get a bus/ferry from zante to tripolis which is what we are doing. this would bring cost down further.

Looking to hear from anyone travelling from Milan Malpensa to Athens on matchday morning on easyjet - arriving at around 09:30 - who would like to share transport to Tripoli.

    No idea.

Would assume Hibs won't confirm anything until the first round is done. Also, that would presumably be the point at which UEFA would look at all the games and decide if any need moved. That's all speculation on my part though.

Took a chance and booked up for Greece.

    Glasgow to Sofia Wed 1st
    Sofia to Athens Thurs 2nd
    Athens to Stansted Fri 3rd
    Stansted to Edinburgh Fri 3rd

    £223.49 in total per person.

Flight to Sofia arrives 23.35 and flight out to Athens is at 06.50 the following morning so its a few hours sleepover in the airport.

Will only need 1 night hotel somewhere in Athens plus transfer to Tripolis.

Presuming Hibs will try and organise charter(s) for a 1 day, no overnight, trip. No accomodation available anywhere on Faroes and return flights around £500. Definitely want to go but unless there is a charter organised it’s looking unlikely. Something similar to what was in place for Dnipro would be ideal. Not even thinking about Greece yet.

Is it not a UEFA requirement that teams have to be in the country the day before the game. If that’s the case, the charter will be an overnight. But as you say, where will the team and the fans stay?

Faroese buses are very good and there will certainly be a way of getting there - probably need to change somewhere in Streymoy. My guidebook is 2 years old so check it out yourself but it says 11 from Vagar (airport / Sorvagur) - change mid-Streymoy to a 10 - change at Skipanes (in Eysturoy) for the last 5 mins on a 15 to Toftir. Bus changes are generally timed to meet each other. I've no idea if they'll be running late enough after the game. Check it out - tourist office is www.tourist.fo -Everyone speaks English.
