    Hibs players at World Cups

How many players whilst Hibernian players have played at a World Cup?

I can think of Ulises de la Cruz in 2002, John Blackley in 1974 and Eddie Turnbull in 1958.

    Any more?

Did Tommy Younger not play in '58, or was he earlier?

He'd returned to Honduras before the 14 tournament.

Sol Bamba was in the squad for 2010 but didn't play.

Eddie Turnbull was picked by journalists for the team of the tournament prior to the knock out stage.

He wasn't even that good! Was there not a rumour we'd signed the wrong player?

Yeah have heard that story before. Anyone who ever saw Caughey playing will probably not be surprised at that rumour!!

Below is a link to a really good interview with Caughey from 4 years ago.
In it he is very honest about his abilities, admitting that he wasn't quite good enough to do well in the top league.
It is also a great account of how difficult it is to make it in game the full time.

Good interview that must have been difficult for him to settle but great idea for him to be living above a pub. Was limited from what I remember of his time at Hibs. Didn't sound like he was prepared to really buckle down and get the best out of himself if liking a pint too much.

    An interesting interview.
In truth, not only was he not up to standard, but as an out and out Hun he was always unlikely to fit in at Hibs.
