Hi, Can anyone from Hibs.net confirm that you are now GDPR compliant please? Just want to know how you will handle my data:-)

So many mails from companies on this and from what I’ve learnt most not needed. I thought end up losing most of my mailing list.

You probably already consented properly (explicitly, in line with GDPR), and they don't need you to consent again. Or they didn't get your consent and they shouldn't really be sending you emails.
The one's I've seen recently are just an FYI that privacy policies have been updated, which I don't think is really necessary.
It'll be interesting to see if I actually get any less emails after the 25th...Mon the Hibs.

I'll level with you, most of the details I can access get sent on to the foreign gadgie that's been threatening me and my family.
Think he uses them to phone folk about spurious accident claims and faulty computers and that.Follow the Hibs podcast, Longbangers, on Twitter (@longbangers)

Frankly if you're not giving all our information away to criminals in exchange for free porn I'll be deeply disappointed in you. Failure to do so is tantamount to selling the jerseys of our peg selling tradition for this particular club.
Or to put it another way, if someone is dependent upon the personal data of the desperadoes of .net to secure their financial security I'm only seeing ferrets in their future, not Ferraris.

Is this this ****ing new privacy laws nonsense?? Jesus, it's made working in a multi-national company that relies on sending documents to external partners a massive pain in the arse.

Its down to each individual to reveal or not reveal stuff about their private lives on social media. Even inadvertently you can create assumptions about yourself ... its amazing the number of Yams who have quoted my posts on here on Kickback and for some reason looked at my username and presumed stuff about my private life

- *You have the right to see what information is held about you. *You can ask what data a company holds and they must provide you with a copy of what is in their database about you.
Can somebody with a better understanding of this act tell me why companies repeatedly say they can't tell me anything due to GDPR?

Alternatively they don’t know and use that as a stock answer and quick way to get you off the phone.

If it is an account set up fraudulently in your name you should still be able to get information about the account itself.

That was my understanding but they just refuse point blank to divulge any information. I even quoted the relevant parts.
