I know, if we had to get a "big" team though I'd much rather it was them than Burnley. I wouldn't mind another shot at Brondby

Nah, easy teams please, don't mind far flung places, just as long as we get through. Have already said I'd like to play Connah's Quay FC though.

I honestly think we could pap Burnley. They would under-rate us, and Scott Allan would carve them up (assuming he's still here)

Been messing around looking at flights to some of the potential destinations. We have some very interesting potential journeys, making me think now that a home nation followed by another trip would be better.

I think some of the possible destinations will be accessible by charter flights only, unless you're willing to get there by boat, train, plane and camels etc.

You think we could knock out an established EPL side with a player budget 10 times ours?? . We'd be lucky to get a draw at ER imo. Thats not me being negative, just realistic.

If you're lucky enough and can be flexible with UK airports then you can get some really good deals, I know not everyone has that luxury though.

Thankfully I've 7 weeks off over the summer with my job so I've no excuse not to jump in the car down to say Manchester or Liverpool, sadly a tricky destination might mean I'm a solo traveller although if its a decent place to get to there will be four or five of us.

We might have a better chance in that Burnley would not have played a competitive match and we would have played two.

I would agree with you if the games were played say mid October but late July / early August may be a leveller.

Same way some club we've never heard off will probably pump us first round.

I can’t find anything appealing about that at all. All that effort to get into Europe and everyone seems happy just to go to Ireland or England.

Not everyone has the money to go on expensive away trips across the continent. Somewhere closer to home would mean more people could go

By the looks of it, if we do manage to get past the first tie, we could draw one of the losing teams from the champions league Q1 as they would be seeded, who would give us more of a chance of progressing. We could either get Seville or Cork City.

That's what I had presumed until I started looking in to flight prices to some of the possible destinations. Even after doing a connection anywhere in Europe it's still costing £400 to £500 for return flights to the likes of Albania, Moldova, Montenegro and Bosnia.

I'd presume Hibs would charter at least one flight to places like these, but i'm not sure that would be any cheaper. Like someone else above said I'd now prefer somewhere closer to home with a good chance of going through and then take our chances with a further trip in Round 2.

Ah well that depends on the away allocation and whether you have an AST.

I took my kids footy team to Poznan a couple of years back and it’s a great place.

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Lech Poznan has been ordered to play eight games next season without spectators because of rioting and brawling by fans.
It's to include 3 Europa league matches. Not sure if away fans are allowed

That would be really Tom Kite if we drew them and couldn't actually go to the game!

Somewhere I can get to from Dalaman preferably (if the away leg is first)
Funnily enough, I’m flying out of Dalaman on the 12th so resigned to missing the game regardless.

A couple of years ago, Manchester City drew CSKA Moscow in the CL Group Stages and plenty of supporters booked flights and accommodation. Then CSKA were ordered to play behind closed doors. No away fans were alllowed.

The bungling UEFA did allow around 500 of the CSKA ‘Ultras’ to attend the match.

I don't see why we couldn't take them. Teams with big budgets can be beat in Europe West Ham got done by a Romanian team called Astra Giurgiu in 2016.

    From Bert Kassies' site:

Although the regulations no longer require the use of regional groups (as used before 2009), until now UEFA still uses some kind of regionalization in the first qualifying rounds. At first the clubs are divided into seeded and unseeded teams, and then the seeded and unseeded teams are split into regional groups. The general approach seems to use the North/Central/South scheme, but no specific rules are known.

If we were to retain most of our players and have them all in on the first day of pre-season training then I'd fancy our chances of catching Burnley cold.

As it is I don't know what our midfield or forward line will look like, so it is hard to say.

In all likelihood they'd spank us and we'll still be guddling about trying to get our squad together in late August.

Now's a good time to be purchasing camels as their prices will go up as the weather gets hotter.

What's the chances we'll get Poznan? Is it possible now that it's likely we'll be seeded?

We could get them if we progress to Round 2. We are seeded for Round 1 but they go straight in to Round 2.

If we win the first tie and get to Round 2 then we will be unseeded so then we'd have a chance of getting Lech Poznan.

Won't Lech Poznan be unseeded as well? I thought their coefficient was only slightly above ours.

Poznan are in the first qualifying round as well, seeded with a coefficient of 7.000.
