Am I right in thinking it’s quite a low key draw? It just pops up on Wikipedia or somewhere else on the internet? It’s not a big live extravaganza?

I doubt it's an extravaganza... But I'm sure there is a way to watch it live.
    Mon the Hibs.

I’m sure it will be utterly confusing (like most of these draws are).

Perhaps better to just check wikipedia!

    No bevied Rod Stewart?!

Didn’t the last draw we were in confuse people as they had a practice and we got a team where people were booking flights to without realising it wasn’t the official draw?

One hibs connection in the draw i’ve stumbled across is that Ilves Tampere are managed by Jarkko Wiss! Not far from Helsinki too so wouldn’t be a bad trip

FC Stumbras are based in Kaunas which is an easy Ryanair flight from Edinburgh. Was there last month for a week, not a bad place for a Euro trip.

The last time we were in it I followed the UEFA website. There wasn't a video feed for it, but there were text updates as each draw was made.

You must have plenty money. expensive and not the easiest to get to. £400 for a flight to the Faroes on the 11th July. Over £500 for a flight to Iceland on the same date.

A chartered flight would almost certainly be the best option for these two places.

When the draw is made will we know who we are playing exactly, or is it two teams that have still to play we will be drawn against.
Out of 47 possible opponents, there are only 6 who will still have to play a Preliminary Round tie first. But given that only 20 of the 47 are likely for Hibs to face, it's more like 6 out of 20. So we may know exactly who we're playing, or we may have to wait until the two teams play.

    Pretty straightforward.

A few hours before the draw teams are split into groups of ten and numbered 1 to 10, each containing five seeds and five non-seeds.

Then only one draw is made.

    Say for example, 1 v 6, 8 v 2, 7 v 4, 3 v 10 and 5 v 9.

Every group of ten then uses the draw to determine opponents.

So basically only 10 balls and no teams mentioned by name.

Not the same as waiting to see Hibernian FC coming out.

The actual draw will only take a couple of minutes.

Would like to hope we can beat any of the unseeded teams. Now I've said that, we're guaranteed to get one of the Finnish teams midway through their season.
All with ex-Hibee links too - Jarkko Wiss is the manager of Ilves, Henri Anier plays for FC Lahti and Otso Virtanen and Big Dave Matulevicius play for KuPS.

Even at the height of their season - we'd surely beat them. I see these teams regularly through my work and they are rank rotten.

What's the likelihood of a charter?

Edit - could the mighty Hibs.net not organise one?

I'd like to return to Lithuania and think it would be a good occasion taking Slivka across etc.

Then again I can't afford to be doing this.. so anywhere but Lithuania please

The best draw for us i reckon would be Connahs Quay FC followed by Dundalk in round 2.

You don't think we'd beat Dundalk over 2 legs ? Even "typical" Hibs would not fall at that hurdle.

    Great first post.

They could but it might be a tad on the expensive side. These things usually are.

Dundalk made it all the way to the group stages of the Europa League a couple of seasons back, having knocked out a few clubs in the Champions League qualifiers on their way.

I would hope we would. But they have done far better than us in Europe recently.

Was that not Shamrock Rovers, when Michael Oneill was manager?
Welsh or Irish teams are good in that we should beat them. I'm wanting something a bit more exotic (by which i mean sunshine and cheap bevvy) for a trip ideally.

Spot on, no ones saying they are mugs, but its a much easier tie than an ac milan or sevilla and actually gives us a chance.

They’ve both done it, Dundalk being more recent.

How many ties would we need to win to make the group stages?
