Just noticed this was also in the Sun, so it's obviously aloadypish (sorry G.G.)
Also reporting we have released Cammy Bell. Didn't think he did anything wrong and would have been a good back up or even No. 1

It’s from the Gossip column, so lifted straight from the Sun article.

Ignoring everything about the fact its Andy Halliday the person. Andy Halliday the footballer is atrocious and shouldn't be near a Hibs jersey unless he's being rinsed by someone in it.

What is his best position? Is he a defensive or attacking midfielder?

Could potentially be a decent attacking midfielder but don’t think they’ve ever played him there.

He's brutal. Not the kind of quality that we need. Partick or Hamilton is about his level.

At the start of his career at Livingston, he was a great young player. Commanded midfield well and was able to spray the ball around from that "Gerrard-esque" position (comparing very much the positions, not the players!).
He shown nowhere near that during his stint with Rangers, but they do play him in some odd positions.

No, no and no again. Just never!
There’s no chance he’d come to us anyway, thankfully.

No chance it’ll happen imo but will trust NL & the recruitment teams judgement on signings.

The Blue Pound?
https://twitter.com/seathsmark/statu...98531701919744
Rangers fans desperate for Hibs' money?
Has the Blue Pound crashed in value (I though the line was that it Beggars Belief that the Blue Pound was rejected by This Particular Club only 6 days ago...)

Unless I hear Lenny say that we are interested in Halliday, I will assume its the Weegie media doing The Rangers bidding.

Message to Keith Jackson............................must try harder!!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

What appears more likely to me is that Halliday's signing for the Yams and the snide press gang are fictitiously linking him with us for their beloved Yams to falsely think they got one over on us. It appeals to the 'Big Club' mythology that their Hibs obsessed cardigan burgundy sta press wearing supporters simply love to hear of.

Tin hat on here... but played further forward in midfield u think he would be a decent signing... he can score goals and his passing range isn’t that bad.
Feel for him a bit as the rangers have been playing him out of position for his entire stint there and it’s crushed his confidence.
I’ll leave the signing policy to Lennon tho cos I know jack ****

Not seen any quotes, so suspect this is just the Glasgow media trying to excite the Huns that there may be a swap deal in the doing with McGinn going to Sevco. They need to do that, as the Huns have no money and certainly nothing like the 3-4 mill it will cost them to get SJM. Day dreamers.

Haliday has found his level at The Rangers, so he should sit tight there instead of trying to make the move up to Hibs. If he can do it consistently in the top league for a few seasons, then maybe we could consider him as a squad player, but he's not ready for such a big move just yet. It's good that Lennon is looking at the Scottish market, to cherry pick the best talent from the smaller teams, but this Haliday lad would be better trying to get a sideways move to a team like Hamilton or Hearts.

From what I've seen of him at Sevco (admittedly very little), he's not good enough for a top four team.
He could do well for a Dundee, Hearts or St Mirren though.Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.
