If Hearts had played the entire season at Tynecastle we would have been comfortably in 3rd place.

Hibs average home crowd for the season is 18,107.

Hearts average slightly higher at 18,429.

However that is distorted by the four matches at Murrayfield. Rather it was distorted by the first three of them against Aberdeen, St Johnstone and Sevco. By the Killie match, the novelty had worn off and the crowd was down to Tynecastle levels.

The average crowd for Hearts' matches at Tynecastle was 17,125. The four matches at Murrayfield averaged 22,995.

Hibs highest crowd of the season 20,193 against Celtic. Hearts' biggest at Tynecastle was 19,324 against Hibs last week.

Hibs lowest crowd was 15,459 for a midweek match against Motherwell. Hearts were down to 15,357 against Accies.

Hibs did attract more for their 19 matches than Hearts for 18 matches. 344,035 v 331,725.

It is clear that if you take away the extra Sevco and Aberdeen fans at Murrayfield plus the curious tourists, that Hibs have been pulling in just short a thousand more per match against all levels of opposition.

The 24,000 against Aberdeen, and almost 33,000 or so against Rangers bulk up their ave attendance
Take them away, and ave at Tynie just over 17,100

Great figure. Whats the chances of getting more next season?
The big games should be 19-20K just like this year so we're looking at the run of the mill games. Can we add a few hundred to the games with Accies, Well ect? St.Mirren will be bringing more than Ross County for starters.

For that to happen we would have to split the South most weeks. And if we keep performing like we have this season then there is a very good chance we'll need to.
Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

So, there we have it: Hibs averaged approximately 1,000 more per home game than The Jambos did at Tynecastle.
We trumped them both on and off the park.
    Bigger gates
    18 more points
    2 Higher places
and 62 goals to their miserly 39
    Take that you Jumbos!!

These figures donít really show the whole story, with Hearts and Killie having 3 games each at Ibrox!?

Whether they are "at it" and massaging the numbers, I think that the attendance levels for both clubs is really good. With Aberdeen also recording good numbers, it should mean that the 3 clubs can, with good recruitment, ensure proper pressure on the rookie manager at Glasgow"s newest top flight club next season.

Well I would guess its the total number of away gates dived by the number of away games played.

Largely to do with the split. Killie had three away matches at Celtic, Rangers and Hibs which without checking were probably attended by about 125K whereas we had two away matches at Aberdeen and Hearts attended by about 34K. Obviously bottom six clubs missed out on away fixture with the better supported clubs such as ourselves and the ugly sisters etc hence the big difference in numbers. Hope that makes sense.

It's been a phenomenal season for Hibernian, both on the park and with home attendances but I think we might see a bit of a dip somehow next season although the ST numbers will be up. Just think we might not get of to a flyer, unless we get a bit of added quality to the midfield. this of course based on Mc Geoch and probably SJM vacating. still think we will have home games where we will need part of the Dunbar end though.

And Killie don't have the disadvantage of having to play two away matches at Rugby Park.

They are next to useless for telling us anything.

Yes but if you look at the numbers, they don't make sense - Hibs 'average away attendance' = 15,000+. We've got a good following but no that good!

But the figures include the home fans as well. Useless stats in this case.

If we have 18,000 every home game and willing to put in £20 a month into HSL we'd have more funds for developing a competitive squad and keeping a very good manager happier.

  25. #25
That would be 6 players on £13k a week give or take . Nice thought but never going to happen

  26. #26
Or 12 on 6,000 or another subdivision but is it unrealistic to think a crowd can BE attracted to invest in the club via HSL? Or, can HSL do better than an average crowd attendance?

Yeh there's going to be plenty families in amongst that lot. My 2 kids for example won't be contributing 20 a month.

Hearts have had fantastic attendances for a few years now, and they can rightly be proud of that. That said, the average for this season has been skewed a little by the very large visiting supports of Aberdeen and The Rangers when they were at Murrayfield.

Having 18k average this season was amazing but If we could continue to get averages over 15k for the next few years, I'd be absolutely delighted
