Where are the signings? Well into the window, training on Monday and still no sign of Stevie Mallen. Wish that guy still hid in the bushes at East Mains, he may have seen something to report back.
Hopefully an influx of players next week. I cant help but think that John mcginn moving could be the the key to a series of players coming

Key to the quality of players arriving, tbf I don't see many clubs in Scotland doing having numerous new recruits.

Not 100% sure SJM will go, at least until well into the window. We will need to get an offer that is suitable for both his and our ambitions. As far as we are aware there are no clubs anywhere that want him and we have no pressing need to sell.

I hope he will be with us until at least the initial European ties are finished. That does make it difficult to sign a replacement. (BTW what position does Stevie Mallan play and who will he replace?)

It does mean Hibs (and other Scottish clubs) are at a relative advantage, as buyers in the market, during the period where the window has already shut in England but still open in Scotland.

That would be interesting funny how he is barely mentioned now

He’s hardly had a mention on FF. either. Prior to Gerrard’s arrival he was a regular topic of conversation there and seemed to be someone the supporters wanted to sign. I assume Gerrard doesn’t fancy him.

Also means that if Mcginn is not gone by then, Celtic will be in a strong position to sign him knowing we don’t want his contract to run down.

    Imagine if:

    McGeouch signs
    McGinn extends
    Kamberi signs
    Mallan signs

    I can dream.......or am I GGTTH
Even if we got Scott A too then that would make us roughly as good as last year but with Gray, McGregor and Whittaker a year older and probably more injury prone. I'll be delighted if we can sign them all too but we would probably need another couple of good ones to finish higher than 4th as The Rangers will be better and Aberdeen as good again.

If you're doing the year older thing then you have got to include Shaw, Porteous and Murray being a year older and probably more first team ready.

Very true especially in the case of Shaw and Porteous who looked very good last year and will surely feature more this year. I think I was pointing out how hard it is to progress in the league and I would be very happy if we maintained what we achieved last year particularly if the type of football we saw at the tail end of the season is what I am watching.

If we are as good during the whole season as we were in the 2nd half of the season last year, then we will do well. very well.

Shows how bad a move he made leaving Hibs. Should have given us another couple of years in the top league and maybe then he would have been ready and able to get a better move.

Last year, if we had gained as many points in the first half of the season as we did in the second, we would have ended up on 74, one more than Aberdeen finished. That surprised me and it tells you how hard a league this is. Our form was brilliant in the second half but Aberdeen have managed that type of form for the last 4 seasons, for the whole season, scoring over 70 points in each and over 74 in two of those. Finishing second, particularly with The Rangers more than likely getting better next term, would be an unbelievable achievement and would need us to kick on a wee bit from last year's form and even potentially from the post Christmas form.

Especially as Forest have a striker for about €15 million with an option to sign his midfield buddy for similar.

How do they have that kind of cash? Been stuck in the bottom half of the championship for years!

He wants to prove himself in England - higher standard of football and more money then he'd get at Celtic.

I can genuinely see McGinn and Mcgeough both extending (or signing) new contracts, with the understanding of the club not standing in their way for the right move for their financial future and career

Why would they be unsuccessful? They can sign him in January - given this we will want the sale IMHO.

I expect SJM to Cellic, Allan, cash and maybe a loanee in return .. and soonish

I see there is a 'Hibs fan' giving Leeann a hard time about the Kamberi deal claiming Hibs nearly 'undone a done deal' and blaming Rod for having nearly caused it to collapse

Why do people have to use Twitter to have a go at our own staff and abuse or have a go at them - especially Leeann Dempster !!!! Unbelievable !

There are some incredibly incredibly stupid people out there in 'Twitterland' Step away from the keyboard 'Johnny Blair'

I haven’t read this entire thread, but is there a UEFA competitions “cup-tied” rule that would apply to SJM?

If he is still with us on 12th July and we play him in the first leg of our Euro qualifying game, does this mean he cannot appear in a Europe League/Champs League game for Celtic or anyone else after he plays for us?

Therefore, if Celtic want him for Euro games, then 12/7 is a deadline. Or are they viewed as different competitions and can play for different clubs in each competition.

Sorry if this has been addressed previously.
