Lennon isn't petty like that. If that was the reason he would have been emptied along with Stokes. Lennon will have drawn a line under it and Swanson won't be playing for footballing reasons.
The rumour on here was we tried but he didn’t want to go.

He did rate him but he was involved in the incident that saw Stokes emptied apparently. He’s hardly had a look in since.
Danny started 1 league game in the 4 months before the Portugal trip. Personally I tbink Danny has been a long term scapegoat for the Hamilton game where they walked through our midfield.

It's amazing just how many people on this board know just what Danny S got up to at Penina in Portugal. Does that count as being ITK? Given that Martin Boyle was also part of The Alvor 3 & he starts every week, I find it hard to believe that this is a factor in NL's non selection of Danny. With Neil's chequered career, off & on the pitch I would imagine he is also likely to be more sympathetic to a one-off example of misbehaviour. IMO, he just doesn't rate Danny. I'm not necessarily in agreement with that view but NL is the manager & he'll be judged on those decisions.
    Well said.

I don't think Danny will leave, and I don't blame him - it's obviously his dream to be here. He will only be a Hibs player for another few months, and won't get paid more elsewhere.

He did miss 5 weeks through injury tbf.

It’s all about football.Willie Hamilton and Jimmy Johnstone were first names on the team sheets for Jock Stein regardless of misbehaviour or poor training. All that matters is what happens on the pitch.

There are countless footballers signed by managers who then subsequently think they've made a mistake. You could also ask why NL signed Simon Murray.
    And Big Dave??

Fair enough. If he wants to stay and fight for his place then I’m happy with that.

Me too. It's not like he's miles out the picture, he is on the bench for every game - but him not getting a game yesterday was a big indication of where he is in the pecking order.

I always think it’s a good thing when a manager admits it hasn’t worked out and moves on quickly rather than try prove fruitlessly that he was right all along.

Am no sure Stevie every player wants to play and I thinks he’s already really frustrated with lack of chances I think if a decent move comes available he would go, saying that who would be considered a decent move Motherwell, killi, st Mirren 🤷*♀️

I think the day of DS getting a 'decent move' are long gone now.

Coyld see him going to another club on loan and maybe doing some damage to one of our rivals.

I know where you're coming from Gary, but given that he'll have a downturn in his earnings and won't have made enough from football to retire, another 9 months on maybe £500 - £1000 a week more than he would get anywhere else is a big consideration.

Also, a couple of injuries and suspensions and he could be back in. Not outwith the realms of possibility.

Yeah fair point guess it’s going to all come down to him as I would imagine hibs would let him move on to save a wage or maybe not maybe he’s in that group of players we are happy to keep to have a strong squad and like you say use when needed. Just think it’s a shame when you see a player who pretty much knows he’s going to struggle for game time and it’s the start of a season where he could go on and take a hit of a couple of 100 quid without knowing any figures he’s on etc.

He’s certainly not someone I’m in a hurry to see go but equally wouldn’t be in my strongest side.

Last sentence is spot on mate. Would have loved for things to have worked out better for him here, but that said, the fact that it hasn't is a measure of the quality that we have.

Interesting the Kamara and caulker were on the bench for Dundee on Saturday whilst they got beat.
I'm only guessing but maybe both are close to deals to move on.
They certainly need some money into the club.

Just Scott Allan and a big experienced striker to go!

Would like to see Fraser Murray set up on a loan for 6 months too - top end of championship would be good.

not being funny but there is no way we would get £100k for danny swanson, i highly doubt we would even get a fee just now

Just getting rid of his wage would be good enough IMO. Not sure if we’d need to give him a wee payoff, if whoever is taking him could cover that then that would be ideal.

yip id get him off the wage bill, he is obviously not going to get games now, but he cant be forced to go so we may be stuck with him

disagree, we already have players who can run in behind the ball, kenny miller might still be fit but we need a big strong player up front who can bring others into the game

I've only just noticed that the Bogdan loan covers the last year of his Liverpool contract.

Wonder if we've agreed something with him to sign in January.
