I’m gutted but happy for the lad. Listening to him during parts of that interview it’s clear he’s very level headed and has taken good advice prior to the move.

    Good luck to him!

Saga is finally over and time to move on whilst wishing him all the best!

    Thanks fir everything John!

It's very sad that SJM has gone (we knew it would happen one day).

Can only say, all the best, John, hope you achieve everything you set your heart on.

Absolutely gutted. I know that the deal was the right one to make but breaks my heart seeing him in a football top that's not Hibs A true legend who will always be welcomed and remembered fondly around these parts - thanks for everything SJM

Maybe we were struggling to agree terms so agreed on a 6 month deal as a temporary solution so we could get a deal done tonight for him to play tomorrow. Terms to be reviewed again in January.
Good point, forgot about the deadline.

Gutted to see McGinn leave but delighted he’s not gone to Celtc. Hibernian legend.

Think this is the most upset (in footballing terms) I've been with regards to players leaving Hibs. He is a legend not only for what he did on the park but also for the way he conducted himself off the park. Sad day but also a good day, I hope he goes on to have a great career. Best of luck John.

😥😥😥 So sad to see him leave. A Hibernian legend, great footballer and all round good guy. All the very best John and thank you for everything. You will forever be Super to us Hibbies.
    Says it all

Whilst it was inevitable he would leave this window its still painful that he's gone

True to the type of guy he is he made sure that we got something for helping him on his way when he could easily have done a McGeouch and left next summer lined his own pockets and left us with nowt.

Best of luck to my favourite Hibs player ever.

It’s like watching yer own laddie leaving home, you’re proud of him setting out into the world, you’re hoping he succeeds and yes you’re a wee bit sad.

Go on son, show the world what you’re made of.

You have the ability, humility and hard work ethic to achieve all your dreams and I believe you will.

You’ll always have a place here should you miss us too much.

Thank you John, it’s been a tremendous pleasure to have watched you.

It's the old undisclosed fee. I hope we got at least £3 million.

Another positive to take from him going is this.....when was the last time we sold a legendary player for mega bucks? For the past decade or so (not including the years following May 2016) we have been saddled with absolute dross who no other teams wanted, never mind splashing serious cash on. We are now in a position where we can sign up and coming Scottish talent, enjoy them for 2 or 3 years and then cash in. Yes, it's very sad that he's gone, but we have the memories and now a large chunk of cash to work with and start the cycle over again.

    We had McGinn
    Super John McGinn
    Celtic didn't understand
    They sat upon their hands
    Now, he's a Villa man
    Celts lost Super John McGinn

Really hope we don't sing his song (or variations like this). He is a legend but we need to move on and celebrating the fact he didn't sign for Celtic just doesn't seem the right way to go about it. We need to support the players that are still with us.

We still have quite a few legends here who need supported, especially tomorrow! Intrigued to see how we approach tomorrow's match. Very difficult tie for us now!

The McGinn song should be retired as a mark of respect
