With the possibility of Scotty Allan coming in, I'm wondering if we will end up with too many attack minded midfielders and less grit like what SJM gives us. Boyle, swanny, mallan, SA, Slivka, if Slivka can become more a the SJM type then we might be ok.

I think Slivka has the build to become more of a physical box to box midfielder

Maybe if big Efe moved into midfield it could give us the right balance

We could do with someone like Mulumbu, we were reportedly interested in him and he’s not signed for anyone at the moment.

Hed Be a cracking replacement for dylan

Him or Glen Kamara would be my, albeit, slightly unrealistic targets

A midfield including Mulumbu, Mallan and Allan would have me feeling very optimistic. I think we'll make a couple of unexpected big(ish) signings too. Very impressed with our recruitment team.

Is Mulumbu a free agent atm?

    No.

I was just wondering as his name has been mentioned here. Would be very pleased with Mulumbu. However I imagine he won’t be short of offers from clubs in England & France

Wouldn’t be surprised if he signs on again at Killie

If he stays in Scotland, I think he might end up at Sevco

I would rather get Kamara from Dundee. Only 22.

IIRC Dundee value Kamara at £1m. Might be a stretch.

They will change that valuation as they approach the end of the window.

No use to Hibs then, if McGinn is away

Soso. I'd rather we bide our time and get the right guy. If that means end of the window, so be it for me.

Still. Hibs aren't paying for him IMO, we could do with someone like him though.

Exactly, if we are bringing in someone on a 3/4 year deal, what’s a few weeks wait. The past few years show us Hibs make most of their big signings later in the window.

He didn’t look match fit which is understandable but once he is, I think he will be a very good player for us.

I thought he looked fairly quick and pretty sharp.

Better than most today. Should definitely start on Thursday presuming he’s fit enough.

Yes....he had some really nice touches......he will be a player for us I have no doubt. Really liked the way on 4 occasions he made good space to receive throw ins.....had a great first touch and found a Hibs man each time GGTTH

I agree with this, was slightly concerning and pleasing at the same time. Pleasing as it won’t take him long to get up to speed. Concerning as he looked sharper than some players that have had 2 weeks preseason.

We need to step it up before Thursday, I saw enough to have some concerns. Efe, Mallan, Mackie, Bartley and McGinn played quite well and seemed to be quite sharp. The rest seemed to be a bit leggy and clearly not match sharp. Passing was ponderous and movement was lacking. Mallan seemed to be trying to get things moving quicker when he came on.

Never underestimate a team that has match sharpness!

We shall soon knock that kind of behaviour out of him 😁
