Happy 60th birthday to Gordon Rae

Where does the time go. I remember him as a teenager scoring at Ibrox. 433 appearances for Hibs over 12 years and a well deserved testimonial. Should have had a Scottish Cup winners medal but for a terrible refereeing decision.

A giant of a player when I was a kid starting out at ER. Happy birthday.

Where does the time go indeed, this thread will really make some us feel our age.

I was about 9 years old when Gordon broke into the team as a striker, probably at an age when you form great attachment to your favourites, and Gordon and Ally Mcleod were mine. Great competitor and gave his all for the club over his decade plus with Hibs.

    Happy 60th.

You're the exact same age as me Dave, I'm sure all fans of roughly our age and older will have fond memories of Gordon.

One of my all time favourites. Loved how he always waited a fraction of a second in the tackle so he could take man and ball.

Remember his wonderful volley against Hearts at Easter Road in the Scottish Cup QF 1979 though any goal against Hearts is wonderful .Still see him at ER as a fan. Happy Birthday Big Man.
