Jamie McLaren was a superstar in the A League in Australia and we are very fortunate to have him.He is a player who will always get you a goal always in the right place at the right time a real fox in the box.IMO he will be better for us in the long run than Jase if we manage to keep a hold of him.Once again a brilliant piece of business by Neil Lennon and his back room staff who should be congratulated.

I think Flo feels comfortable at hibs and you could see it in his celebration after the second goal on Saturday. The fans love him and he loves the fans. He'd do himself no harm in signing and probably playing European football and having a crack at 2 cups next season

maclaren is a goal scorer. He will get plenty chances created for him at hibs and would have good publicity like for his goals against hearts, Celtic and rangers to get himself back into the Australia squad.

He needs to have someone like Kamberi doing all the running as other than putting the ball in the net his contribution to the game is even less than Cummings was. Lennon said it as well that if he’s not scoring he’s not really involved in the game.
Hopefully we can keep the two of them as sometimes two players just click and find that understanding and it’s not something that comes along that often.

Lenny dropped Jase for not doing what he was paid to do on a regular basis in a lower league with a hatful of chances. No complaints on MacLarens return so far though take your point that Flo does do most of the graft.Do not remember Jase scoring for us in the big games at Hampden Panenka penalty with the Pirlo haircut springs to mind against the Arabs putting his own ego before the goal of the team.

Hibs have said that they are happy with the fee in question
This would imply that the ball is in Flo's court - he's made light work of becoming a fans favourite and surely would be open to moving here permenantly?

I’ve no complaints about MacLaren either, he’s doing exactly what we brought him into do. Being in the right place at the right time is a skill in itself.

His off the ball work is immense - I can't remember a partnership that worked so well so quickly at Hibs before. Our scouting system is starting to come good after years of utter dreck.

    His contract.

If he does get hyped up so much that a major club wants to throw silly money at us to take him off our hands (and by extension, unsettling Flo so he doesn't want to play for little Hibs no more), then won't we be able to win something by exercising the option and selling on instantly? We don't necessarily get a player, but we do get free money instead (albeit Grasshoppers probably gets a cut if we sell Flo on at a profit).
It depends what the deal is. The loan deal with Grasshoppers might mean for example we can buy him for £150k at any point but all that would entitle us to do is to bid £150k and automatically be given permission to speak to Flo. He might, however, have no contractual obligation to join us permanently which would open the door for someone to come bid perhaps the same £150k or more and offer him more money.

But we don't know the ins and outs of it all and the same goes for Maclaren, what we can take from it all though is that we have all the plans in place and a great opportunity to retain the services of two lads who look like they enjoy playing with us and with each other.

I think he contributes a lot more than Cummings did. His runs off the the ball are always very intelligent and draw a man opening more space for his team mates.

Apologies! Feel sorry for you. Missed out on a well trained organised green machine in which everyone knew their jobs and their positions a joy to watch. The best brand of football the worlds ever seen! It was like watching a game of chess the ball was always rolled out from the back by the goalie and was always kept on the deck to play football the HIBS way. If the move broke down they would simply start again. A team blessed by brilliant brilliant players and a very good and knowledgeable Head Coach.Indeed Gordon and Orourke scored 132 HIBS goals between them though not all as a partnership and if Jamie and Flo can match that I will be well pleased.

Have to say that is so wide of the mark.He runs centre halves from side to side and takes them away from Kamberi.Must admit I have not seen that Lennon quote, where was it?

Agree totally his movement and workrate is exceptional. Makes great runs which guys like Allan and Swanson will appreciate.

Both McLaren and Kamberi close down the defenders properly, they dont do it half hearted like Cummings and Stokes did.

And by doing this, we regain the ball much earlier than we did before, and their movement has defenders turning much more which then gets us as a team further up the park as a unit now, and not so stretched as we were.

    Love them both.

Spot on. They are both very clever forwards. Hope to see them both back next season.

On Hibs tv. Running centre halves is something anyone can do, they can’t just ignore the striker. He does it very well, and more importantly he finds space in the box
