Respectable 4th placed but could have been so much better if not for too many draws having dominated matches and those home losses against Hamilton Accies and St Johnstone.

You have to take responsibility for that as you’ve designated another two draws against our main rivals in games we (will) dominate.

I hope they don't. A win at the wongadome would be huge in cementing the 'mind the gap' and the mindset against them.

Celtic and Killie are the only ones that can take points from us.
The rest, on recent form, are garbage.
3 wins and 2 draws. 11 pts and an unbeaten end to the season.

Celtic: we could sneak a win, but we’ll probably draw, but there’s a strong chance they’ll beat us.
    Kilmarnock: nailed on draw.
Aberdeen: we could sneak a win, but we’ll probably draw, but there’s a good chance they’ll beat us.
    Hearts: nailed on draw.
    Rangers: nailed on 3-2 win.

Hearts have only scored 3 goals in the last 8 derbies. What gives you the idea that they're going to score 3 goals in the one game against us?

They may well beat us as their home record is decent but I would be astonished if they scored 3 goals past us.

Very hard to predict results for us and other 5 top 6 teams . A lot will depend on how motivated Celtic and Hearts are . Wouldn`t be surprised if we finished with 5 draws which would mean no top 3 but would be enough for 4th if Killie didn`t get 9 or more points from their other 4 games . Killie`s form in recent months suggests they are capable of winning 3 of other games and 4th would mean waiting on Motherwell losing final to know if we`ve made Europa League . All 5 are important matches but Killie is most important of the lot .

    There’s going to be an almighty meltdown on here if we don’t at least finish 4th. I’ll predict the following;

    Hibs 1-3 Celtc
    Hibs 2-1 Killie
    Aberdeen 2-1 Hibs
    Hearts 1-1 Hibs
    Hibs 3-2 Rangers

We can predict all we like. We can be as optimistic as we like. Sad fact is, our history in post split fixtures is against us. Apart from one decent season, when in bottom 6, where we had 4 wins, 1 loss, our record is not great. I’ve got the stats if you want them. They are certainly not something we want to see repeated this season.
So is our post January record until this season when we are unbeaten in the league since December

We have a grit and steel about us this days that we certainly didn’t have before and that gives me optimism that we’ll come out of it okay. We won’t win them all but I think 8, 9 or even 10 points is realistic. Anything more than that would be superb.

As I’ve said, if we manage that amount of points it will be our best ever Top 6 post split finish in 15 seasons. Best we’ve managed before is 5 points.
I’m not trying to burst everyone’s optimism bubble but dealing in historic facts. If we set a new T6 record, I won’t be complaining. Far from it.

I cant even guess how we will get on. We have the capability to beat anybody, but we also have a performance like Pittodrie the last time out in us as well.

CELTIC ...... Its a long shot hoping we will beat them, the same as it is for any other team in Scotland. The one thing in our favour apart from the fact that we have proved this season we can be a match for them is that there must be a part of them which would love to settle the league at home to Sevco. I wouldn't be in the least surprised if many of their fans would be more than happy with a draw in this one.

KILLIE ...... The leagues form team and we disrespect them at our peril, a win is far from guaranteed.

ABERDEEN .... They were abysmal against Motherwell, but were missing key players and when the hell did Hibs ever get an easy ride at Pittodrie?

HEARTS ..... Their home form is good, at least results wise, and Hibs wins at the Rust arena are as rare as hens teeth ... they have nothing to play for apart from beating us and no doubt Harry Potter will remind them of that at every opportunity ... not to mention that yet another rodgering from us, especially at home, will put his coat on an extremely shoogly peg with the puddle drinkers.

THE RANGERS .... As I type getting ripped a new one by the lesser greens, another battering at Parkhead will put their gas at a wee blue peep, hopefully by the time they come to us we still have something to play for and they are looking for a new manager. Nothing is guaranteed though, we absolutely ripped them up at ER and still managed to lose as I recall.

The teams from 6th to 2nd are all capable of beating each other, so a defeat or a draw in one fixture could easily be negated in the next .... in short anything is possible

That result will today probably turn even more anti Murty so the atmosphere at Ipox will be horrid.

  31. #60
When looking at the run in then you have to look at the order of the games.

We are up first against Celtic in the early KO. A win would be superb but reckon a draw would be fair enough. Aberdeen then have a very tricky game at Killie which they will struggle to get anything out of. On the Sunday I just don't see our neighbours doing us a favour against their cousins. So after Round 1.

    Celtic 76
    The Rangers 65
    Aberdeen 62
    Hibs 60
    Killie 58
    Hearts 46

Round 2 is crucial. Aberdeen host Hearts on the Friday night. Suspect a bore draw. Dons under real pressure now. We must beat Killie or 4th could be tricky let alone 2nd. Celtic win the league against The Rangers on the Sunday.

    Celtic 79
    The Rangers 65
    Aberdeen 63
    Hibs 63
    Killie 58
    Hearts 47

In Round 3 it all becomes really tight and fraught. A difficult match for us at Pittodrie. A draw might be the best we can do. The Rangers host Killie and a win probably gives them 2nd. A draw would be potentially our best result to give us a chance to catch The Rangers without Killie closing on us. Celtic to hammer Hearts on the Sunday. They will use the last match there as real motivation.

    Celtic 82
    The Rangers 66
    Aberdeen 64
    Hibs 64
    Killie 59
    Hearts 47

Two games to go and we have a round of midweek fixtures. Firstly the Dons host The Rangers. I think that Aberdeen might just win this one. The next night Celtic will beat Killie and we play the team that is making up the numbers. A derby win puts us above The Rangers and level with Aberdeen.

    Celtic 85
    Aberdeen 67
    Hibs 67
    The Rangers 66
    Killie 59
    Hearts 47

Last round and Celtic host Aberdeen. Can't see Aberdeen breaking their Glasgow hoodoo. Killie will easily beat a Hearts team that will be full of players that are off at the end of season.

This leaves Hibs hosting The Rangers for 2nd place. A draw will do but I see us winning this one.

    Final placings

    Celtic 88
    Hibs 70
    Aberdeen 67
    The Rangers 66
    Killie 62
    Hearts 47

Of course it could all go very differently and it is just as easy to see how we could end up 5th. I like my scenario better.
