Couple of games from Croke today, my mother's county Roscommon up against Cavan in the Div 2 league final and then Galway break out their minging hearts coloured tops to take on the Dubs in the Div 1 decider.
It's been a good league campaign for the Rossies and they'll compete in the top division next year, taking the place of Donegal which has led to some good craic between certain factions of my family...
As my Donegolian cousin pointed out midweek the league means nothing and it's all about the All Ireland, but still

Nice win for Roscommon there despite 2 black cards and a pretty shaky looking defence.
Good to get a win at Croke and looking forward now to the Connacht matches for the All Ireland.Last edited by Mr White; 01-04-2018 at 03:08 PM.

Interesting football ties in all 4 provinces today. I'm hoping Roscommon beat Leitrim in the Connacht semi. Surprising that the Ulster QF between Down & Antim in Newry has been scheduled to clash with the CL final as it'll surely hit the attendance given the amount of Liverpool fans over here.

No surprise it was a bit of a stroll for the Rossies today, 10-24 in Carrick on Shannon. Sets up an interesting Connacht final if, as expected, Galway beat Sligo next week. Either way I'm going to head down for the final on 17th June as it'll be one set of my relatives up against another
Watching the first half of Down v Antrim which is available on the iplayer in NI. Currently 9-5 to Down.
Edit- goal for Down. They look a lot stronger than Antrim.Last edited by Mr White; 26-05-2018 at 06:37 PM.

I think it was the poster Easter Rising who mentioned it on the mainboard a few months ago and is absolutely spot on:
Co Fermanagh's current shirt is a thing of beauty. Like watching Hibs playing Gaelic. They're up against Monaghan in the Ulster semi final. Just about to start on RTE2.Last edited by Mr White; 03-06-2018 at 01:03 PM.

Injury time winning goal and the supporters in green flood on to the pitch. Scenes. Green scenes

Terrible game though, happy to see. Fermanagh come through, would expect Donegal to
Beat. Down but you never know
Fermaghs jerseys are class , now where have I seen something similar before?

Would you fancy Donegal to beat Fermanagh in the final if they beat Down in the semi?

Yes. Donegal are a young team who can rattle in the points , defending
Is their problem but should have enough for the final if they get there
Odds for the semi 1-4 Donegal. 4-1. Down

Unsurprisingly Galway are trouncing Sligo in the Connacht semi so it'll be Roscommon v Galway in the final 2 weeks today.

Ooft some pretty dodgy decisions in the Waterford Tipperary hurling match there. Hard to tell from the replays whether the late point was over or not but the goal was a shocker- never over the line! Like an inverse Oli Shaw moment.

I had high hopes for Limerick after the start they made to the Munster Championship. Sickner, the way it ended, but I still expect a run to the Semis of the All Ireland this year.

I've purchased a terracing ticket for this Saturday's Galway v Clare Hurling semi final at Croke Park. Will be cheering on Galway and looking forward to my first experience of watching the sport live at Croker.

Enjoying a few beers in Gills bar near the stadium. Completely mixed with fans and there is no segregation of fans at ground - a completely different experience to what we are accustomed to. Be interesting to see if it’s all as civilised once the game kicks off later, but I suspect it will be.
