I thought back then was meant to be the glory days of the SPL when the mercenaries arrived - shocking standard.

Was that not the improbable draw that gave that bald **** Duffy longer in the hotseat and thus ultimately relegated us?

We where on top all game winning 1-0 they got a spawny equaliser as per and just when it looked done Harper scored a peach outside the box.

48 fking quid that almost cost me. Three tickets and, if you don't get money before kick off and you're two down as early as we were...good luck trying to get the cash back!

    The usual then! Haha.

Great 3pm Sat afternoon derby. I’m I right in saying the Benji winner match was the last sat afternoon derby? Probably last ever.

Remember it well as was my first derby! My old man almost killed me celebrating Harpers winner!

You could be right there. There isn't one since that springs to mind.

Spawny ?? If i remember it was a decent free kick from Robert son, fwiw one of my favourite Hibs games the celebration when Harper scored was mental.

Robertson free-kick, and Harper run from half way line before slotting it away.

I remember leaving that game thinking that's the result that changes everything and that the fight back was on. How wrong

Yeah, I remember watching loads of pies being launched at him from the Roseburn having just woken up on New Years morning.

Closest I have ever come to being chucked out of a match, was totally smashed and raging at our first half performance.
Was getting food just after ht and heard and huge roar thinking that's it, 3-0 down only to look up the tunnel to see the yams on their *****. the rest is history.
They went quite close to winning the league that year? Those 5 dropped points to us wouldn't have helped

Anyway still a ***** season, we got relegated and they won the cup.

I thought no danger so looked it up and you were right. They would've been 2nd and just 1 behind Celtic who ended Rangers going for 10 in a row.

    They did win the cup.

Yeah they were an excellent team. McCann and Hamilton were a handful. Cameron, Adam, Salvatori, Bruno etc then young players like Naismith and Ritchie. Decent.

Managed to find highlights with Spanish commentary of the 2-1 derby of that year, some goal by Lavety too.
