    Greek tragedy

After a disputed goal in a game between AEK and PAOK, the Paok owner Mr Savvidis entered the field of play to protest while wearing a hip holster and gun. Not surprisingly the game was abandoned. A warrant has now been issued for his arrest and it seems like the super league might get postponed until it all gets sorted out. His close links to government ministers are now being called into question amid claims of corruption etc, and the incident now moves into the political sphere. And we think we've got problems.

They do seem a bit mental out there when it comes to fitba. Haven't they had various suspensions of the league stretching back years for crazy shenanigans?

What a fantastic OP and theme. Actual guns on the field of play.

It can only be a matter of time before we start arming the players. The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

    He got his way, though....

The match was officially abandoned two hours later and it was reported the referee had reversed his decision.

    AK47 for STF ?

Petrie knows what to do if any of our Mickey mouse refs miss another goal in a derby.

WTF is going on in football these days, fans storming the pitch and directors box at West Ham and a president who thinks he's Harry Callahan confronting the ref with a gun!

Here is some footage but you don't actually see the gun as he's wearing a jacket.

I loved the quote "“Our main priority at the moment is the wellbeing of the dogs that were in the ring, who are looked after by their owners and show officials".

Never mind the folk, eh? As long as the bowsers are okay.

This country's going to the dogs I tell you.
