Would there be so much interest on here if they weren't hibbys? They are not my cup of tea just interested to know if folk actually like their music or just their affiliation to the club?

Cap in Hand is my favourite ever song. The fact that they are Hibbys just means they have a brain - I personally think they are brilliant lyricists regardless of persuasion.

Probably not as much that's for sure. But one of there songs is known around the world as a Hibs anthem so normal that we would like them.

Remember first seeing them supporting the Housemartins never having heard of them. Later saw them on the Tube still not knowing they were Hibbys. I'd be a fan no matter who they supported, with maybe one exception.

They are incredible. I’d love them regardless. The fact they are Hibs fans and sing our unofficial anthem is obv a huge bonus. Similar to my feelings towards Andy Murray tbh.

I wouldn't part with money to see them. Sunshine on Leith is pretty good though 😉

I think that suggesting that the Proclaimers are only successful because of the Hibs factor, does them a disservice. Yes, I’m a Hibby but having seen them twice, their musical ability and the quality of their live show and band, far outweighs any Hibs connection.

They're not very good singers but they are very good songwriters, which is what I care about far more. SoL wouldn't be the same sung by anyone else.

I suspect that people are more open to listening to them because of the Hibs connection. But if like me you don't like that sort of music then the Hibs connection is irrelevant. "Sunshine on Leith" is not something I'd ever listen to except when at Easter Road and even then it's all about the atmosphere we create with it.

Used to sit a couple of seats away from one of them (Craig?) in the old North Stand and we usually had a quick chat about football before the game.

They are good singers. The vocal harmonies are a key feature of their sound. Maybe you don't like the sound of their accents? The Scottish Everely Brothers

I've been to gigs of theirs at Edinburgh Corn Exchange, Stirling Albert Hall, Edinburgh Playhouse (several times) and Edinburgh Castle. They've been great every time.
Going to see them in Motherwell this tour for a wee change. Looking forward to it already.

I stopped going to see them in Edinburgh as I genuinely like their music and, while I enjoy the Hibs rally aspect from time to time, quite like seeing them play an actual gig. Got tickets for the Palladium which will be weird as it's all seated; but looking forward to it!

Each to their own tastes...but I Love the Proclaimers...nothing to do with Hibs - I think their writing is up there with the very best of modern day musicians and poets. I tend to avoid many of their Edinburgh gigs, prefer to see them where the Hibs element isn't as dominant in the crowd..more focus on the music

Glastonbury 2008, I was watching Massive Attack play but surprisingly got a bit bored. So I gave up and on the way back to meet my mates I passed a large tent that was packed and bouncing. I managed to squeez in and The Proclaimers were in full swing. Great gig!

In general they're not my cup of tea either but Sunshine On Leith is up there as one of my favourite ever songs. However I suppose they wouldn't have recorded Sunshine On Leith if they weren't Hibs fans so it's probably not fair to mention that in answer to your question.

I probably wouldn't pay money just to go and see them but if they were appearing as part of a line up at a festival or something like that, it would be good to go and join in with their well known songs as they do have quite a few.

I seen them first in Nicky Tams at top of Victoria Street, never thought much about them until appearance on the Tube which was great.
