Small is fine, that's exactly what they are. Diddy isn't ... diddy gives the impression that they aren't due respect because they are a small club. To Man Utd or Arsenal or Newcastle United Hibs are a small club ..... Compared to Celtic Hibs are a small club. But to me Hibs are the best club in the world because I support them ... I can accept us being called a 'small' club by fans of far bigger clubs because to them we are ..... but I would express my disappointment in the strongest possible terms if a supporter of any of these clubs called Hibs a 'diddy' club.

To the 1000 or so folk who do support Hamilton on a Saturday their club means as much to them as ours does to us and as a football fan I wouldn't dream of disrespecting their loyalty by telling them they support a 'diddy club' .... a loyalty by the way that has been far less rewarded than ours to Hibs has over the years.

As far as I'm concerned you can file the expression 'diddy club' right beside that other well known football phrase 'natural order' ..... It's beneath us, and if there is such a thing as 'Hibs class' calling another club a 'diddy club' is as about as far removed from that as anything I can think of.
I too fully agree. nonetheless we are due them a doing. will be mightly disappointed if not so

I fancy a decent crowd for this one. Home stand sell about plus 500 Hibs in south, 32 Hamilton fans = 17,032.
If my memory serves me, they contributed greatly to a crowd over 18k a few years back.

Right. Midweek game v Hamilton coming up.

Wonder if Barker might feature on bench?

What are the ticket sales looking like?

Lennon said the other day that he was unlikely to be back until after the derby.

You don’t want to risk someone recovering from a hamstring too early
On the plus side, great to have Whittaker back in action yesterday. A fit Whittaker will be great assist for the run in

I think there will be more than a few empty seats. Some St holders will be working and with kids having school the FF lower will be worse than normal. At least the seats are sold and the club has the money but I wish there was a better way for folk to hand back seats that were not going to be used. If the seat is sold to someone else then the ST holder gets a few quid added to their account that they could use in the club shop.

Why would the club do this when the games isn’t sold out? It would cost them.

Think the crowd will drop below 15k for this sadly

What is the point for a match when there will be 4,000 to 5,000 empty (and unsold) seats?

The beast from the East might effect my plans too. Hopefully it’s not as bad as people think it might be.

I was more thinking about games were we do sell out and still have lots of empty seats.

They manage it across the city every other weekend

Been short changed by the SPFL this year so far, only 2 Saturday 3pm matches at ER, up to the split on 7th April
And possibly no more until the season ends

Mine too. I usually laugh in the face of the weather when it comes to making it to Easter Road and I've driven through some horrible conditions to get there and back before, but this looks like its going to be horrendous and safety comes first, especially with kids in the car.

I don’t understand this obsession with empty seats. There are a lot of empty seats in the FF Lower largely because of heavily discounted children’s season tickets and seats empty for evening matches. A price hike might reduce this. Or would it simply replace empty (sold) seats with empty unsold seats?

How many matches this season have there been Hibs supporters unable to get a ticket? Four at maximum so far. And I suspect very few were disappointed.

I agree that it would be nice if a ticket exchange system were in place. I have missed a number of matches this season while working away. However I can see why the club would prefer to sell unsold seats than faciliticate season ticket holders to resell already purchased seats. It would cost the club in two ways, firstly through the expense of running the scheme and secondly the lost of sales in the South Stand and elsewhere if late purchasers went for recycled season tickets.

Don't think there is much hope of getting up for this from Ayr if the forecast is correct.

This may have been explained but why is the game not being played on Saturday?

It's Scottish Cup weekend so no league games were originally scheduled for this weekend. However Hamilton are now playing a rescheduled league match on Saturday now in any case.

The fixtures have been awful to us.

With international weekends breaking up the start of the season feels like we've never really had a consistent run of weekend games at ER this season.

So many midweek home games and yet so many free weekends

Does feel like we've had an insane amount of home games midweek this season. Rather that than away ones though in terms of being able to make them.

Thanks for the info. One thing about the fixture list is that come the split we will be used to playing the top teams in quick succession.
