Is there any need for this anymore? Having recently bought a new tv I can’t watch sd anymore. I used to wonder what the fuss was all about with hd and ultra 4K but I get it now.
What would happen if all sd channels were removed? Would some people not be able to watch?

There’s still a lot of tv’s out there that aren’t HD compatible, especially bedroom and kitchen sets.

When HD first came out I didn’t notice a huge difference. I’m convinced now though that SD has been made worse as I think it looks awful now.

The bigger the screen the worst the picture becomes.

I hate watching stuff in SD. Not got a 4k tv yet but as soon as my TV packs in I'm upgrading to one.
It's like watching something on VHS when you've been used to DVD.Follow the Hibs podcast, Longbangers, on Twitter (@longbangers)

We've got an HD compatible TV but there's no difference between SD and HD channels. The picture is good so I'm not really bothered but I'm sure it's not HD.

Heard today that channel 4 will stop broadcasting in HD on freesat from 22nd February. So much for advance in technology. Still available on all other platforms.
