Thread: Falkirk ex Hibs

    Falkirk ex Hibs

Have been trying to find out how Alex Harris has been getting on at Falkirk.
Looks like they want shot of him. Was on the bench until about a month ago and since then not in the match squad at all.
    Unless anyone knows different.

FYI from the fans forums they like Taiwo

From the distant past they didn't like Kevin McBride calling him McHide and saying Hibs only signed him because his dad was part of Yogi's coaching staff.

    Your opinions?

Amazes me the amount of players who have fantastic debuts (or first couple of games) then fall away.
Alex Harris, Alan Orman, Calum Booth, Sammy Stanton, Jay Shiels, Kevin McCann, Simon Murray, etc.

    Peterhead were after him

    Looking tough for him.

Harris hasn't played at all for Falkirk since he came on with just under 30 minutes left against Dunfermline on 2nd January. He was an unused sub in a couple of games after that but he hasn't appeared at all in their squad in the last 6 matches.

Was at Cappielow today and Danny did little of note.

Morton had ex Jambo Greig Oliver up front. Looked decent.

Dumbarton brought on Christian Nade! Did nothing.

I posted about Harris a couple years ago saying he’d drop down the leagues as he simply wasn’t good enough. Seems I was right!

Handling only played the last 20 minutes though and Dumbarton were already 2-0 down at that point so perhaps not the best game to judge him.

Saw the Morton game at Dunfermline and Oliver was decent then too.

I reckon that's pretty fair, was surprised so many folk liked McBride.

That Alex Harris / Martin Boyle swap was a golden piece of business.

Sad to see him drop like a stone from such a promising start

Fair point. Dumbarton created sod all before Danny came on and same after he came on. Tough shift for anyone up front.

    They were pretty poor.

Danny got no chance to do anything.

If Nade had been playing against Hibs, he'd have scored an overheid kick from aboot a squillion yards oot for the winner- even if we were 5-0 up at the time. I can assure you, this happened on several occasions.

Spot on. I would like to think that Petrie had the decency to wear a mask when tying up that deal. Daylight robbery.

It seems like it has defined him, sadly.
Had great hope for the boy when he burst onto the scene, sadly not fulfilled. Best of luck to him.

It is. I don't think many folk really appreciate how difficult it is to make it as a player even at our level.

That 09/10 season, I posted on the Liam Miller thread we were class. They two in the middle were a joy to watch at times.

Still laugh at his nonsense sending off vs rangers

yes, and Booth has been a Premiership regular for few seasons, unlike most of our current squad. Not knocking them, just making a point.

2 years ago we were in Championship where Harris has great statistics at QOS and even this season at Falkirk he`s their second top scorer and was playing almost every game until early January . I`d assumed he`d been injured as he went from regular starter to not even being on bench ( he played for Falkirk Under 20s the other day ) but maybe there`s another reason . Whatever the reason is it certainly isn`t that he isn`t good enough . Good enough for what ? In 2013 in his teens he stuck out as an outstanding player way above the level we were playing in in 2012 / 2013 and the year after he got the injury . He still came back with good statistics with QOS and with us with Stubbs and again with Lennon last year . In short , no idea why he`s not playing for Falkirk now but disagree that he isn`t good enough to play for us comparing him with present team assuming that Harris is still interested in playing football as first occupation .

Then and now I don’t think he’s good enough to make the Hibs team. I’m sorry if he was he’d be playing at a higher level than Falkirk. I can’t rememebr anything of note since his injury, which was a shame! Do you think he’s good enough for us or to even play in the top flight?

Totally agree with this. Miller was as sweet a footballer as you'll ever see. Or certainly I'll ever see at Easter Road. McBride complimented him perfectly.
