A few stats from today's game in Gorgie.

    Yams 17 fouls, 2 bookings..............Saintees 8 fouls, 4 bookings.

Yams 1 corner in 90 minutes.

Crowd 12,393, I wonder how may Saintees were there.

Saw this - Hearts commit more than double the number of foul Saints commited but Saints get double the number of their players booked ??.

I was at Starks Park today to watch Raith v Airdrie. Once I'd gotten over the horror feelings seeing that Airdrie strip gave me I quite enjoyed the game. Airdrie better in the first half and scored via ex Jambo Dale Carrick (an ex Jambo playing for Airdrie, who woulda thunk it?). Rovers by far the better side in the second half and improved immensely when Scott Robertson came off the bench and sat in front of the defence causing Airdrie to fall out of the game. Rovers have a guy called Willis Furtado (nicknamed Nelly, obviously) and I have to say I was impressed by him. He's only 20, is French and plays as an attacking midfielder having signed in the January window from Airdrie who signed him from Stenhousemuir. You have to wonder what brought about his move from lower level French leagues to the metropolis of Stenhousemuir It was Furtado that scored the equaliser and Hibs fan Lewis Vaughan nabbed the winner.

Furtado reminded me a bit of both Tony Rougier and Didier Agathe. He's strong, quick and has an eye for goal. One to watch, I reckon.

Artificial pitch to go down at Starks Park for next season.

Take deep breaths, Jonny. Deep breaths. That’s not the same Airdrieonians. They are dead, like another team whose name escapes me. God, I remember their previous incarnation, and that terrible spell, but before they died we won six in a row. You know all of that, of course. Don’t do it to yourself!

It’s the football equivalent of a Scooby Doo ghost doing an inverse Starsky and Hutch car. We’d’ve gotten away with it if it wasn’t for that pesky liquidation and having to assume Clydebank’s identity and being called Airdre United for years.

They are dead, Jonny. Dead. It’s all ok.

Typical Spurs though. Miles ahead but the fans were sweating right to the end.
Sounds like another team I know.

My in laws are all Yiddos, and prior to all this Champions League nonsense I always said that Spurs were the Hibs of England.

No mystery or conspiracy there. Potter's talent for 'organising' teams consists in their being exceptionally well drilled at fouling rotationally.

Their stats seem to read like this every week, so it's pretty obvious that fouling is part of their tactical strategy. It's served them pretty well, but it can't be pretty on the eye to watch on a regular basis.

Chelsea v Barca tonight for anyone who is interested.

Chelsea possibly one of the most boring home supports in the uk, their chants are almost as boring and shan as the jumbos.

Their line up suggests that they recognise that hitting them on the break is their only hope.

They seem to be doing that ok since they've hit the post twice!

If they can stop Barca from scoring an away goal it would be a great result.

It does not seem right having a thread currently focussed on Chelsea, Barcelona etc also discussing Hertz foul count.

Did Hertz get past the Champions League group stage this year. They were due to have won it by now.

Barca are poor compared to their past teams, messi busquet and suarez apart they have good players, but not the special types they used to have.

Iniesta is a shadow of the player he was too, and it pains me to say this, but i feel a Man City or a Tottenham could win it this season.
