"I'm doing what I think is the right thing for this football club, for my football club."
...by sending his players out to kick lumps out of everything that moves.

he is on an ego trip pandering to his manky mob of a support to make sure they don't turn on him again when they realise his dire footballing tactics wont bring them any relevant success.

The posters on JKB are absolutely buzzing off this. What has it even got to do with Hearts or Levien!?
All of his crap wind up patter recently has done nothing other than endear himself to those fans who wanted him out of the club just a few months ago.
Product on the pitch is crap so he turns himself into one of the lads and he's being lauded by the jambos.

We really have to demolish them in the next derby, Levein needs brought down a peg or ten.

Hearts fans seem to think Levein is some sort of Messiah.
They are currently sitting 5th 7 points behind their city rivals and absolutely miles behind Celtic (who Hearts fans claimed a few years back are now their main rivals, how did that turn out?). Their constant claims to being bigger than they actually are just highlights how insecure they really are.

Don't forget, they are building a super duper new stand at Oriam, have just completed a multi million pound new stand at Tynecastle, are busy negotiating with two out of contract forwards to bolster their squad, and have the most exciting youth programme in Scotland.
Oh ma sides......................................

Jealous of Browns medals. One of then won a najor tropjy with an Edinburgh team and it sure as hell wasn't Craig Levein.

What a weirdo. Long may he remain manager of Hearts, they are unbelievably well suited.

I posted this on the other Levein thread:
One or two folk on here felt Lennon was wrong to be drawn into a war of words with Levein after his 'natural order' comments, but to me Levein seems to be the one who can't leave well alone when it comes to anyone expressing a view that doesn't tally with his own. I see he's at it again with Scott Brown today:
https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.c...-tie-1-4685771
What riles me about the guy is he's clearly trying to cultivate an image of being some kind of football guru who possesses wisdom beyond the average player or manager. What he says is presented as the facts and anyone else's view is misguided. Quite what qualifies him to adopt this permanently smug persona is beyond me, although I suspect it's down the fact he thinks that being a director of football prior to his return to the dugout gives him some sort of elevated knowledge. He certainly conveys the impression that the managerial role is a bit beneath him and that Scottish football should feel honoured that he's agreed to take it on.
If that's the case then it doesn't stack up, given that the whole Cathro fiasco (including a whole raft of failed signings) was down to his botched attempts to install a conveyor belt of young managerial talent at the club. And as for his managerial 'guru' status, well, if being statistically the worst Scotland boss of all time (which takes some doing!) coupled by never winning a trophy at club level qualifies you for such a position then I guess Craig Levein is the man.

Surely if Brown is as much of a threat to players as levein made out then it's only natural he'd be getting booked?
Daft question, is it even against the rules to get yourself booked deliberately to time suspensions? I would imagine it's impossible to prove so they've never bothered having a rule but it sounds like good game management to me.Mon the Hibs.

Giving him the benefit of the doubt what he is doing is playing to the fans who lap all this up like they did with Vlad and the fans will view him as a witty man who can wind up the opposition. This gives him some credit in the bank of emotion with the fans who will turn on him the minute Hibs pump them.
It also creates an us and them mentality, which keeps the fans onside. He knows the mentality of jambos and this is what they lap up. It also helps to have a distraction to the eye bleeding football on display.

How has Levein got the time to be looking up other teams players disciplinary records, that have absolutely nothing to do with him?
The man has issues!

If a player is going to get themselves deliberately booked, they’re not going to do it with their first tackle. They would do it later in the game with a deliberate hand ball or pulling someone’s shirt. Levein is and always will be a loser who knows **** all.
United we stand here....

When he was talking about things he did when he was a player, did he mention that he shat it in '86 when his team needed him the most?

Potter may have a point but why he brings up another team while doing a presser for a game not featuring said team is bizarre.
Levein likes to think he is the smartest guy in the room. That's what happens when you surround yourself with yes men.

I think Potter needs a visit to Frazier! This is more of an insight into Potter's mentality & way of thinking ( aka cheating ) than it is to that of Rodgers/Brown.

To be fair he seems to be replying to Brown who is accusing Levein of being at fault for him getting booked in a game that Levein had no involvement in.

The Creep is right, Brown only gets yellow cards when he wants them.
What an absolute embarrassment he's making of himself.

If it is the case it makes perfect sense - Cup games and games against the new Rangers are the only things left to play for at Celtic this season.
Effectively, getting booked was both smart and an astute tactical decision.
You can see from that why Levein is confused.....
