Has this been confirmed? Wonder how long he is likely to be out?
Does that make selection easier? Do we go with MacLaren and Big Flo up front together and Squirrel out wide, or do we need Squirrel as a Wing Back? Typical for us to lose Fonts and then have both Hanlon And McGregor injured. Is Rherras going to get to do the job he has been brought in for? Going to be interesting to see our next formation. I suppose we have 2 weeks to get some players back.
If not, would this work?
Rocky
Rherras, Efe, Ryan, Lewey
Dylan, Scotty, SJM
Squirrel, Flo, MacLaren

It's never good news when one your players gets injured but it's worse yet when that player has been has been a pillar in how we look to play.
On the flip side though Swanson is the most likely to take his starting position and needs to grab the opportunity and show why he's here.

Going to be a huge loss to us. Have loved watching him in full flow, and who knows where he could've gone after scoring his first goal.

Have a winter break then come back to play 5 games in 13 days, SPL couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery, we're not the only team with injuries either.

These 2 weeks off will hopefully allow a few players back to fitness.
Think Wednesday and Saturday showed that Efe's best position is at centre back. If Daz and Paul are fit then I would love to see a back 3 of Efe on the right, Daz in the middle and Paul on the left.
Like us to go 2 up front with Flo and McLaren. They look to already gel well and both could get goals. If they can both get into double figures then that would be good.
That leaves 5 outfield places to fill to make up the midfield. I think this will always depend on the opposition.
A real attacking formation would be to have Dylan as the holding midfielder, Scott Allan in the 10 position and SJM going box to box to link it up. Then play Squirrel as an attacking wing back and Lewis as a more defensive wb. This assumes that Barker is out for a while.
I really think that this 3-5-2 would suit our squad.
Other players can slot in if needed.
Possibly Marv to holding midfielder if a more physical presence. Maybe dropping a forward or even taking Lewis out and pushing McGinn to lwb (I know that it's not his best position but he can do an alright job and it keeps our 3 best midfielders on the pitch).
Swanson can do the left midfield or number 10 role.
Whittaker or Rherras could be rwb if required.
Also, Porteous can cover the back 3 with no worries and Fraser Murray can be introduced to the midfield during games where he will have excellent players around him.
The squad really has a balance about it.

If his injury sees him out for the rest of the season, will he be sent back to city? Would be a bit of a shame if so.

He’s their player, and they’ll want to give the best treatment they can

I think it’s a bit soon to think that!
If it’s his hamstring then 4-6 weeks is worst case...not great, but not season-ending.
