It's a notoriously tricky window which is reliant on a number of factors. I wouldn't be too despondent - I'm pretty sure we will have at least 2 more new faces in soon. Fourth in the league, playing good football, derby this weekend to hopefully go 10 in a row I'm maybe easy pleased but it's been exciting being a Hibs fan for the last 3 years I'm really looking forward to watching Jamie MacLaren too !

IIRC, there was a potential deal last year that fell through because the possibility of it was leaked. If that's the case, you can be sure that the club will be tighter than a duck's arse this year.

Bain a backup goalie is hardly exciting. Maclaren possibly...but hes not someone with a stellar career to get excited about IMO.

Absolutely no need for panic. We've brought in two players very early like we always say we want to.

Lennon has said he's happy with the core of his squad and I agree. It's important that if we bring anyone in now they are better than we have and will be able to push us to the next level.

We have some gaps in the squad but there are still two weeks left and I'd rather we wait to get the right players, even if that means waiting until summer.

Which is crazy considering we have one fit full back in Stevenson, seen plenty of the Development squad and nobody, including Crane, is ready to take a step up. From a purely pragmatic point of view, I cannot see how our business this transfer window can possibly be done !

I reckon Bain will be here to be more than a back up goalie. Not long ago he was in the Scotland squad and being tipped to sign for Celtic so I would say he’s a pretty exciting signing.

My only concern at this moment is something that was pointed out in one of the Swanson posts.

The 2 players we have brought in so far have been offered to us by agents for players needing to move. It doesn't seem that players are being specifically sounded out to do a job in an area of weakness instead it's the kind of sign a player because he's available mentality we had in the summer. I hope there's some kind of plan going on in the background.

We wanted MacLaren before he signed for his German club Bain is a very good and easy choice to make given Ross Laidlaw's injury. Proven at the level we are at, knows some of the players, can settle into the squad nicely without needing weeks to 'bed in'.

It doesn't concern me that we picked up a goalie of Bain' s ability because he needed to move on ....Maclaren can't comment on as I've never seen enough to make a judgement.

True. He was offered around though.

That's not the point I was trying to make sorry. The point was these guys came in because they where offered to us. I would like to see us bring in players that have been scouted and identified to make a significant contribution to the first team which doesn't seem to be the case either in this window or the summer gone.

What are you expecting? 43 goals in 61 games for Brisbane, hardly a look in at darmstadt but that's not an indication of his ability.

Don't really know what else you're expecting when we've signed a current international and a keeper who's been in the Scotland squad in recent years.

I get folk get a bit antsy without hearing rumours but the club is quite right to tighten up any leaks.

Have some faith we are exploring the right options, generally under LD recruitment has been positive and a lack of rumours is no indication at the clubs transfer policy or strategy.

Were half way through and we signed a striker who scored about 0.8 goals a game last time he was playing regularly and is an international.

We’ve also signed a very good goalie.

I’m quite happy with our business so far to be honest.

We’ve also as it stands still got McGinn which must be our biggest priority.
