Just heard...
Now this is the rumour so don’t shoot the messenger!
Stokes, Swanson & Boyle missed the curfew time whilst allowed to
chill out and have a beer.
That is why they weren’t in the squad today. Now if this is true, I’m annoyed that...
1. They take advantage of being allowed to have a couple of beers
2. That it’s a training camp, not a holiday camp!
3. We have a massive game coming up so they should be professional like most big clubs
Now, as I said, it’s a rumour but if this is true, a massive fine should be given to each player. And god forbid , if it’s Mr Stokes who is leading the horses to drink - get rid because he did this years back with other players.
Hopefully this is not true...

I heard from a good source. I honestly hope it’s not true as we don’t need this right now!

IF (and it's a big IF because at the moment its all just rumours we are hearing) this is true then I fully expect that Lennon will be coming down hard on them. As a poster has already rightly stated, it's a training camp they are at not a holiday. If they have been granted a bit of lee way and been told they can have a couple of beers in their chill time and it's been abused then that's not on. Disrespect to the manager and the club.
Hopefully though this is untrue and it they were simply being rested due to minor knocks.

Disappointing, when considering how the club have stood by Swanson and Boyle for reasons well documented. Their week in Dubai the previous week was surely their downtime to have a few beers. Swanson needs to get a grip soon.

Also, I don’t know which night it was but could it have been when the gaffer was at that function and they’ve thought “whilst the cats away, the mice will play!” ???

It's also a myth that mice think that way.

Couldn't give a monkeys. Do the chaps good to let off a little steam. In the old George Street days it wouldn't have been just a few beers, there would have been ****ging, cocaine shenanigans and the obligatory assault on a loud-mouthed Jambo bouncer. Sadly the way the game has become so sanitized, it's now left to us, the fans, to fly that flag.
