Im glad she's alright and there's no broken bones. She just seems to have a ridiculous tendency to **** it up at crucial moments in a way that I find quite funny. I'd never dream of abusing an athlete on social media, horrible thing to do.
She's had more coverage for falling over (admittedly quite a lot) than she'd have got for winning.

Same for me. Never played bowls or curling in my life but if they are on TV I can sit and watch for hours.
UK have a couple of stunners in the Women's team. Better than last time they won with that old boiler as skip. Rhona something.

I watched the slopestyle last night - pretty impressive. A bit pointless and I do wonder how you get into a sport like that but a decent watch.

Could’ve done with the commentators explaining what was going on instead of saying he’s gone for the texan270 and that though. They were really annoying me after about 10-15 minutes of garbage while I’m working out what the blue lines on the snow were for.

Just when you think you've seen everything Elise gets disqualified. Crazy sport.

Heartbreaking for her. I thought she was unbelievably brave to get up and start again after the fall at the start, she could hardly walk. I don’t really understand the sport properly, but I think her disqualification was harsh.

    United we stand here....

in the previous race she's the victim of a sliding challenge Tom Forsyth would have been proud of an that's deemed to be acceptable. Now she's disqualified for what appears to be just the usual bumps you see in every race.

I see a Russian curler has been disqualified for doping. I might not be understanding the sport very well, but what would make someone feel the need to dope at Curling? It's not that strenuous is it? Would performance be enhanced significantly?

"Meldonium, a substance that increases blood flow and improves exercise capacity" according to the BBC.

    These stanes are heavy....

It's also used like Viagra, so he may have used it recreationally. If he has, it's a bit bloody stupid when it's on the banned list.

    Again, these stanes are heavy.

If he's been using it like Viagra they'll not be heavy anymore!

Maybe he got sick of having to do all that brushing for friction until his rock hit the spot.

    Coat. Getting.

When did Steve Cram become a curling expert? His criticisms are way OTT, especially from someone with no background in the sport. Bring back Dougie Donnelly...

I watched something called the "skeleton" which is a bit like the bobsleigh but face first. It looks really dangerous, but most of them seem to get round in one piece. The potential for injury must be quite high, and the results could be really horrendous. Can't really think why anybody would want to do it, but whatever floats your boat I suppose.

How do folk find out they have an aptitude for it? Waiters tripping up on St Moritz High Street, landing on their teatrays then hurtling away down the hill?

Possibly as a means of calming nerves and making it easier to perform under pressure?

I watched the Germany v Russia ice hockey final this morning and wondered why Russia was referred to as Russia, when they are banned as a nation in the Olympics. I thought they were referred to as OAR. Is it not a bit of a waste of time banning them and then acknowledging them at the same time?

Officially they were OAR but the commentators just called them Russia. The hockey players will all be clean anyway as the KHL is the biggest league in the world outwith the NHL. The player are regularly drug tested.
