    Rip The French Elvis dies

Johnny Halliday RIP. Passed away after struggle with lung cancer. Absolutely massive over en France, sold a ridiculous amount of records, and starred in a film I really liked, l'homme du train'.

Apparently they're expecting over a million people to turn out for his funeral.

Today's TV schedules were all changed to show tribute programmes, concerts, etc.

    Mental!

I'm working/living in Strasbourg and was given a word of advice not to mention it to colleagues as for some people here it's Princess Diana x 10!

All ligue 1 and 2 games this weekend will play a Johnny Halliday song as the teams walk onto the pitch. Assez incroyable. It's like Shaking Stevens passing away and the Manchester derby being introduced to the sounds of 'Green Door'.

A couple of videos from his funeral today. 700 bikers (not including the police) accompanied the hearse.

His musicians played in the church.

Pretty amazing thanks for posting the links. The world is wide beyond ours shores. Huge in France and the continent yet I never knew of him personally.
