    *********** hospitality

I know the thread title is an oxymoron, but has anybody been to a derby at crimecastle in Hospitality?

Yeah but in 2013, Caldwell last minute winner so it's probably changed a bit. I was dreading it - could have either been one of the worst or best days you could imagine and luckily it turned out to be the latter!

It was excellent, loads of free booze and decent meal. And the bonus of seeing losers Darren Barr and Andy Webster having to make "man of the match" speeches at the end

    Yes.

I have an acquaintance with the all inclusive season ticket hospitality package and he invites me along as a guest.

As you go in there's a line of girls with trays of sparkly wine. Get one from the first girl you can leave your empty with the last and collect another. The tone is set ;-)

It's very good and on the 27th I'll need a taxi home!

I was for the recent 0-0 Scottish cup tie. Pat Stanton was a guest and spoke very well pre match and correctly predicted a draw, whereas John Robertson looked awfy foolish predicting a 3-0 hearts win 😂 PS was well received to be fair.

Food was good, plenty drinks to be had and generally a good day out. Myself and another hibby were guests of a friend, and the other guys at the table were good company, despite us being honest about our allegiance.

The half time chips are apparently outstanding.

Does this involve sitting in the Hearts hospitality, as in the hearts end? Or is it at Easter Road then you get a lift to Tynecastle?

    Is this a real question?

Long time back in the pre-Mercer days was sitting in the main asbestos-dome. Just on half time as I was heading for the toilet some very helpful person held a door open for me, and low and behold there were trays of pies and sandwiches in front of me.

I hoovered up as much as I could before I was spotted as an interloper (the place was full of fat jambos) then ducked out.

I've only recently been back to tiny-castle as I refused to give Mercer a penny.

    Hahahaha!!

In response to the question we're taking about attending hospitality at The Budgie Cludgie itself.

I'd rather set fire to my granny than step inside the bowels of their tin pot stadium. Bad enough sitting in that death trap Roseburn stand.

Not sure they've got hospitality in that shanner of a stand yet...

No way I could do it though. I've been in the home end when Hibs were away only once (Falkirk in the QF of the Scottish Cup) and it was really difficult to stay sat down when we scored. The difficultly level would be multiplied by at least 100 in a derby.

Did it once as a guest in the Robinson era. Never again, John Gibson was sat behind me and my back was covered in the spit aimed at him. Can’t believe they can think that is acceptable.

I’ve been in the directors box there before. Was surreal turning up to a derby in a suit and munching on cavier pre match. I’d have preferred to have been amongst it in the real atmosphere with the away fans to be honest, was definitely the tamest derby experience I’ve had.

Got to chat to Rod Petrie before and after the game, and sat next to George Burley who was Scotland manager at the time. Riordan got a free kick in stoppage time, and I was ready to scream with delight and head straight for the exit if we scored. Hit the wall, and ended in a drab 0-0 draw.
