Women's sport often faces sexist prejudice, but that was hit as well as any man could. Keeper takes a step to her right, is beaten by the power on the ball and can't get back across. It went like an arrow.

Yup. In fact, I'd say that very few men at any level of the professional game are capable of hitting a free kick as truly and accurately as that.

It really annoys me when men disparage women's football - if more resources, time, attention and publicity were given to the women's game it would be justice.

I've seen them on the Net - "Wee girls shouldnae be playin a man's game ..."

    Dinosaurs Rule OK.

Was shown on BBC sports news at 7am. Was just brushed over. Nobody even had the good grace to mention it. The quality of journalism on the BBC now is pretty pathetic.

    No deflection:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-scot...o-scottish-cup

I thought at first it was a bit of a punt but from the replay it's a great effort to get the ball up and over the wall.

Good to see the Evening News give the girls a front page plug today.

Just watched a good bit of the game. Really impressed I must say.
Hunter's goal was worth the price of a season ticket alone.

I was in a pub uptown and it was on the news.

There were all sorts of people in, including a few Johnny Foreigner types.

Some missed the first showing, very few missed the replay as their mates pointed at the screen.

    Awesome and then some!

Super Leigh disallowed goal comes right to mind. Take a bow, what a striker of the ball the ladies player is.

I Hate the Way Football clubs Promote " Show Racism the Red Card " and all that.. and Yet We Still Can't Accept the Female Race in our Game..

A bit of class from Shibs/Shibso/Shibsey (select best banal football nickname for SH.)

I think that women and men are not separate races, but different genders. But I'm being a pompous fool as I've drank too much. Your broader point is on the money and more important than my pedantry.

Wonderful free kick, the power, the dip, Leigh Griffiths would have been proud of that. GGTTHL

If forced, I'd go with (phonetically) "Shevvy". Although there's nothing wrong with 'Shevon' as it is.

Shiv, as she’s known by her team mates, is a big Hibby. She regularly makes 40 yard passes onto a teammate’s boot, so finding a target as large as the top corner was easy. Great to see the girls getting some recognition.
Just need to get more fans along to their games next season.

40 yards into the top right. Must be a candidate for goal of the season, male or female.
Noticed that Shiv's goal was nominated for WSU goal of the month. You can vote at http://www.womenssoccerunited.com/november-wsu-gotm/
The other contenders are pretty good too.

I voted for her, but she's going to struggle to win. Some absolute belters in there.

Voted. We've single handedly swung goal of the month competitions on here before, let's do it again

Yep, some cracking goals. All worthy winners. Excluding Siobhan's (the one I voted for), I liked goal no.2 the best.
