Horrible news for such a young guy.
Fingers crossed for him and his family's sake he pulls through.

Sad news. Hartson was in a very bad way years ago and overcame it. Hope Liam does the same.

At least it sounds like the guy has a chance from what McManus tweeted. Horrible position to be in but better than what was described earlier.

Miller was a talented player and gave us his all. He was an absolute joy to watch in that 6/7 month spell under Yogi. Hope he pulls through.

So sad to hear about this. Sincerely hope it is treatable and that Liam can make a full recovery.

Really sad reading this, wonderful player for us and streets ahead of some teammates at the time.
Hoping he somehow makes a recovery.

I'm really sorry to hear this, he was a very good player for us. I always remember one game in particular at Fir Park where he was absolutely outstanding.
I'm encouraged by the news that, despite earlier reports, he appears not to be in a hospice and is well enough to fly to the USA for treatment.
I wish him well in his fight and hope that he can make a full recovery.

Such a shame!
He was a great player for us when Yogi first brought him in, he's still my avatar on his website never changed it, his screamer at Ibrox on one of our customary 0-3 victories is my fondest memory of his time here! Hope the rumours aren't as bad and there is some hope for Liam and his family!

Genuinely gutted at this news but more hopeful now we know he’s not in a hospice and is being treated for the illness.
A joy to watch at times, for half of the 2009/10 season Hibs were immense and he played a big part in that. Get well soon Liam.

Horrible news. According to Wikipedia (I know) he played more games for us than any other team (76) which I found quite surprising. Him and Kevin McBride looked like World beaters together when he first joined.

So strange I was watching Ireland Denmark the other night wondering what ever happened to him... We've got someone close to our family going through the same thing just now and it's ****ing *****. Hope he gets through it, an exceptional player on his day.

Guys can we please keep this one on topic. It's not the place to be laying into other Hibs fans. I've tidied the thread up, including posts that quoted other deleted posts. It really doesn't refelct well on a couple of posters that I've had to do that.

This is a huge shock; I hadn't heard any stories of his being unwell. Sounds like a dire situation; what a terrible shame.

Terrible news. I hope he recovers fully. I still get annoyed at his sending off at ER for already playing the ball as the man in front hacks our player.

Very sad news. I gather it's pancreatic cancer, which is essentially as bad as it gets. As those on here (and I'm sure there are a good number) who have seen family or friends affected by cancer, the unfortunate thing is that the rhetoric used about 'fighting', 'battling' or 'standing up' to it may be well intentioned but when it comes to cancer it's misplaced. This piece puts it quite well:

I don't think the prognosis is usually very good with that type of cancer.
