Couldn't care less what country's make it. Scotland aren't there and that's all I'm after.

The play offs across the world are weighed heavily in favour of the "bigger" nations. So **** fifa. I'd rather all the unseeded teams sneaked through.

I'll be rooting for sveedn tonight

As said above, a WC without Italy just isn't right.

It's bad enough that Holland have missed out.
Still haven't forgiven Holland for their tactics agains Spain in the world cup final. They sold themselves short that day.

I agree about Italy though. Would love them to be there.

Im maybe one of the few that cant stand Italy, score a goal then shut up shop, oh for the good old days of Italian fitba.
You’ve literally described the good old days of Italian football – look up catenaccio and Helenio Herrera.

Looking forward to the Sweden v Italy clash. Im an admirer of italian football but as I put in the OP I've just got a feeling that Sweden might do a number on them.

Much to your pleasure Im sure I think England will take a tanking tonight looking at the team they have out against Germany.

Gianlugi Buffon makes his 174th appearance for Italy tonight. That’s incredible. Does anyone know what the record amount of international appearances is?

I'm sure Gianlugi delayed the taking of that Swedish freekick to comb his hair for the camera.

Wonder if the other lot will have the seats in by the time you get 1874?

Next post after that one it should be flashing lights for you and lots of firework noises with a couple of choruses of Hail Glorious Saint Patrick!

No goals in the England match has been taken at 5/1. Probably won’t happen, but it’s being played like a training game so far.

0-0 half time between the swedes and Italians. Ventura so bloody minded in a) playing whatever formation he wants, as long as it’s not 433 and b) leaving out Italy’s most in form player, Insigne, because he won’t play 433.

Darmian at left wing back or Insigne left of a front 3, it’s Craig Levein levels of stubbornness. I really hope it doesn’t cost us tonight.

And Jorghino’s currently one of the best technical midfielders in the world, yet can’t get a cap as Ventura continually picks Parolo, who’s spent all game chasing shadows and making Brian Kerr look like Xavi.

Get it sorted, Ventura, before it’s too late.

Quite enjoyed the first half, Sweden have done quite well but Italy carved the best chance of the half. Although quite entertaining and interesting you half get the impression that both teams would take a 0-0.

Yeah, agree with that. Sweden almost playing the perfect half, been pretty impressed with them. Belotti’s header was really unlucky though.

IMO him and Immobile just don’t work together, they’re too similar and a front pairing at this level leaves a team so exposed in midfield. Wide players with quality and awareness is the key at this level, especially away from home.

Im watching the Sweden Italy game, I'll catch up with the England game later on, on the highlights. Flicked over at half time to catch the last 10 minutes of so of the first half of the England game, to be fair considering the team fielded they seemed to be doing quite well. Looking very Scotlandesque in that kit though I have to say.

I'm enjoying the game but in some ways wish it was fulltime. 1-0 Sweden would be the perfect balance going back to Italy for the second leg.
