I can't vouch for how accurate this model of Easter Road is, but here is a view of the back and exits of the high terracing.

Is this the model you see on the ER stadium tour? Looks familiar.

I used to enter at the turnstiles at ground level in picture 1. I can’t remember climbing up 3 flights of steps though to get to the top of East terracing. Probably did and thought nothing of it when I was a lad up to age 16-17 back in the 60s/70s. Although, used to exit via the steps down the North terracing which took you out to top of St Clair Street. You ask - why not enter at North Terracing? If memory serves me right, there wasn’t a Boys gate there but there was for the East.

Other thing missing from the model is the floodlight pylons. Picture 2 would have had one right in the corner there. Same at the Dunbar end in Picture 3 next to the half time scoreboard.

Brilliant aerial shot this of ER with the Old Lady still there and Arthur's Seat in the background - meanwhile a derby rages on the pitch below. The year was 95 - who was there and what was the score???

ER with the hills - derby 95.jpg

....damn it's come out all small - have a click and see - worth it ...

that pic got me thinking as well, i 'think' it was 3 flights but like yourself was only a wee laddie and could have been 2, if bet365 had a bet going i would put £1 on it being the 3 the walls were also reasonably easy to climb over at some parts :)

I'm going to have a guess at this one. 2-2 with John Robertson getting a last minute equaliser?

    Poor Hearts support though.

I think you're speaking about the "fat striker" game. If so there was a larger Hearts support.

Sprouleflyer is right. 1 October 1995. Game was live on Sunday afternoon on STV and the Hearts fans did indeed fail to show up leaving half the bottom tier of the South empty as well the entire section they were allocated in the main stand.

We had pumped them 3 times the season before, probably why they didnt fancy it.

Not a Hibs player in sight but it's one of my favourite Hibs photos.

Four more from Homes of Football - all taken at the PBS but of the Hibs fans - clearly the more photogenic bunch (especially the second picture).

That strip to me is our proper green, not this lighter shade we've seen come in over the years.

Found this on facebook, its not easter road but pittodrie, with 44 thousand cramming in to see us, and health and safety seemed a little laxed. hibs at pittodrie.jpg

It should be brought back permanently, IMO. Put a badge and a sponsor on it to update it, and keep it.

I think TV is a big reason for lighter shades, no?

F1 Ferraris aren't proper rosso corsa anymore either.

I have no idea why we wear a lighter shade?

As I said above - because TV cameras pick them up better.

The original jersey was dark green, didn't it go to a lighter shade in the fifties, then return to bottle green?

Yeah, me too - it took me less than a week to put a hole in the knee after I tripped running along the street - I was heartbroken.

That picture brings me joy every time I see it. From a neutral () point of view, it beautifully sums up the drama of a crucial last-minute goal from both sides.
Mainly it just makes me happy though.

This one looks like a slightly lighter shade, but not by much. Looks like the 50's or early 60's? V neck shirts.
