No, I'm sure that's wrong. The free kick is taken from where the player is offside. The furthest forward a free kick can be taken for ourselves is just inside your own half.

The referee actually signaled to Murray that the foul was for using his arms to turn the defender, but I think that was after he realised he'd made an arse of the free kick being taken in our half.
The clown held his hand up to indicate an indirect free kick. Either that or it's a new Masonic sign!!!

Your absolutely right on a personal level do as you please however when your representing the club I feel it’s expected to wear one and show respect. Hibs after all send a poppy wreath yearly showing respect I see it just as an extension of that.
The vast majority of fans don't wear Poppies so why would you expect the team to wear one. Personally I think the fans reps should see what the support feels. I am for a dignified silence if we play on remembrance weekend and that is it. I don't want us wearing poppy strips but would have no issue with players choosing to wear a poppy armband but only on the Remembrance Weekend fixture. I may be in the minority though but will never know until asked.

Why do we only wear poppies at home. Do we only remember at Easter Road and not bother in Kilmarnock or Motherwell. It makes no sense to me and given as it is an International weekend on remembrance weekend then the Scotland team could have shown respect on behalf of Scottish football.

anyone know why we didn't have a minutes silence today ? fwiw i've not worn a poppy for many years, though i do donate, but we really should have had a minutes silence to show our respects
‘cos all this chat is a week early.

We should be complaining about flares and fireworks in the stadium instead.

Appears that some folk can’t read a calendar

Why? I'm more than capable of showing respect on Remembrance Sunday...not sure why we really should have done so on the 4th November.

Stokes and Stevenson have been unreal in the 2nd half.
He was culpable for the 1st goal and wasn't at it first half, but agree PB ... he was great second half, he put in a few last ditch superb tackle and worked his ass off up and down the line trying to help Stokes.

Just delighted to get the 2 points today. Another sign the "old fragile Hibs" are maybe disappearing in the rear view mirror?

    The Celtic game had one.

Very important win, especially with the sheep & m/well dropping points, was expecting a tough game due to the position they are in,teriffic start, then after they scored struggled for a bit, build up slow and they stopped our midfield dominating,2nd half much improved due to the sustitutions and SJM being more effective,Hanlon outstanding, even popping up on the left wing, where he caused them problems,Rocky one save (stunning) & that was it from them,a deserved win.

Seriously, is this the match day thread? If so, we've hit a new low, especially after such a hard fought win.

Explain the two points bit to me please.

Can't remember when it went up to three for a win but it was a while ago

John McGinn's 5th booking of the season today in a league game, does that incur a ban?

Can we clarify what the rule is?

Murray is offside in the Dundee half, but runs back and touches the ball in his own half.

Is the free-kick taken from the spot where he was offside, when the pass to him was played, or was the referee actually correct to allow the free-kick to be taken from the spot in our half where the ball was eventually touched by Murray?
Ref was correct for pretty much the only time in the game.

We were talking about this at the game yesterday. Thought he'd had a fair few and would be approaching a ban?

We were saying that too but I think it might be 6 for a ban

Might be wrong but I think it is 6 bookings for a ban these days. Either way, he'll have to sit a game out in the not too distant future. Lot of big games coming up in December (Huns, Sheep, Celtic and Hearts) so hopefully it's none of them.
