    M8 or A71?

With Celtic playing at home and general rush hour traffic anyone think A71 might be a better route to Kilmarnock tomorrow.

M8/M77 should be 30 mins quicker but I reckon that might get eaten up pretty quickly at 5/6pm

There’s a shop in Irvine at the end of A71 that I went to the week before last. I travelled through via M8 then M77. Took me 55 minutes to get there. Decided on the way back to travel via A71. Wished I hadn’t bothered. This was a Tuesday afternoon and my return journey ended up 1hr 50 minutes. Stuck behind all sorts and road works made it a hellish journey. Stick with M roads

Think we're heading along the A71, I'm getting picked up at Riccarton about 6.10, hopefully get there on time.

Good move. I done the A71 from Livi to Killie in the dark once for a Hibs game and it's a horrible long drive that goes through tons of towns meaning you have to keep slowing down to 30. Avoid!

All depends on leaving time as city bypass westbound between gilmerton and hemiston after 15:30 is down to a crawl most days get stuck in that and you can kiss goodbye to half an hour or longer, Living in Dalkeith its just as easy for us to go via Carnwath then onto A71, not the best of roads or quickest but served us well going that way for midweek games through west

Loads of street parking near ground - never usually a problem parking at Killie.

Travelling from Peebles, I think I'll head to Carnwath, Carluke, Strathaven and down A71, but will return M77, M74 to Abington and home via Biggar. Celtic traffic could make M74 heavy going for a bit on wY through, so safer bet going cross country.

Not got a choice, my dad's partner doesn't get home till half 5 then he needs to get from port seton to Riccarton to ge me. It'll be tight but we should just make it. Missed 30 mins of the morton away game in 2016 and we won so maybe a lucky omen!

Three of us heading from Bankhead at roughly five thirty. If you were willing and able to meet us down there (save your old man going to riccarton) then you're welcome to a lift through with us.

Wetherspoons is ok, you can use car park opposite. 10 min walk to game.

Good on you D, you're definitely worthy of an uber tag.

M74 might still be a bit busy, I would carry on to East Kilbride and use the Glasgow southern orbital.

I appreciate the offer but I'll just go along with my dad, he'll need the directions! I'm just gonna get the 25 to the park and ride so not too much of a detour. When was the last time hibs scored early anyway ;)
