Hope it was decent coke. Imagine if it was just talc, brick shavings and baby laxative.

Seems a bit harsh. It's not like it'll help his performance.

And then there's the role-model thing.
And... it's illegal.

Not really a shock tbh. Seemed thick as mince. Throwing away opportunity like he had incredible.

Silly silly laddie. Stubbs took a massive gamble on him and offered him a golden opportunity to have a career in football. Not good enough for us but the lad banged them in for fun at East Fife so i'm sure he could have found himself a club in the lower leagues somewhere. Hardly would have been making a killing but he said himself that being a footballer was all he wanted to be.
Chucked it all away sadly.

He was unlikely to make it at Hibs but we gave him a platform to forge a career for himself in the game, perhaps at a slightly lower level. He's blown that now.
He's got previous for being in bother so it's hardly a surprise I suppose.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

Silly mistake the lad looked very good for east fife you need to look at Cannigia and maradona and loads of others who have did coke and got off lightly albeit different calibre of players perhaps he should have been rehabilitated and given help a fairytale with a dissapointing ending

If the lad had had any sense at all he would have realised what a massive massive opportunity this was for him, got the head down and worked his arse off to make something of it. I hope he can get himself straightened out and salvage something but I very much suspect he will be yet another player who will forever wonder to himself "what might have been". Only himself to blame though i'm afraid.

Shame for the laddie but that's the price you pay at this level.
His loss and not ours. Hopefully he learns from it and has the chance to return to football in the future.

whilst he has been an idiot and wasted a great opportunity...don't you feel that the punishment is harsh - what about education and re-habilitation, rather than killing his career?
feels an unhelpful punishment to me.

You might be correct though - maybe a year would seem suitable? Although only details i know is "he took cocaine".. was it a one-off positive test?
Kezman (ex chelsea) is the first one I always remember of being punished for this.. what did he get again?

Mutu was given 7 months I think, then took Chelsea to.xourt because theyd sacked him and lost I think, and now owes them a silly sum of money. Would have to look it up but it's something along those lines haha

Absolutely, this harsh sentence achieves nothing positive.

coke is rife in football. He was obviously grassed. If these checks were regular there would be numerous players a week being get hung out to dry.

I must be the only one on here who doesn't think the sentence is harsh. He's not a daft young kid, he's a man, a father- no sympathy from me!

what good does it do though? it's not as if it is performance enhancing....he needs help and education, not an end to his footballing livelihood

I havent read the full story but I assume his ban will be based on getting himself sorted, some sort of rehab then if he sorts himself out then ban is reduced ?
Met him a few times, wacky as **** but a very polite lad, wish him all the best.
