ENGLAND legend Terry Butcher was in mourning last night after the sudden death of his troubled former Army Captain son.
Hero Christopher, 35, had fought in Afghanistan and the ex-Three Lions star had spoken in the past about eldest lad’s torment.
RIP.

That's awful.
RIP.Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Horrible. No parent should ever have to bury their child.
Can only hope that the guy is now free from whatever his demons may have been on this earth. RIP fella!

I was just reading about this. What a terrible tragedy. Butcher's tenure at Hibs was abysmal, but losing his son so young is a terrible blow for him and his family. Very sad news.

I like Terry Butcher. A larger than life character and a man who loves Scotland as his adopted home. Horrible time for him and those around him. More needs to be done to help young men who come back from seeing unimaginable horrors in battle. RIP.

I played American football with him briefly when he was at Glasgow Uni and when he played for Glasgow Tigers, I was coming to the end of my team sports career and he was just a big quiet 18 year old hard hitting Defensive tackle, very sad loss.

He might not be the most popular member of the Hibernian family but you wouldn't wish this upon anyone
Thoughts going out to you and your family Terry

Did he kill himself? It’s not clear although the turmoile from Battle hints at it.
RIP. Terrible for a parent to have to bury their child.

I would guess so from the way the story has been covered.
Sincerest condolences to the Butcher family.
