Didn't really make any impact but wish him well for the future.

Never started 1 game, not even league cup. Bizarre.
0 starts 1 goal, good luck

A minutes applause for Big Dave would be a fitting way to pay respect to a true club legend

Thought Hibs had been watching this lad for a year and had done their homework prior to signing him?
Strange he never got a sniff of a start. Perhaps he just didn’t suit the formstion Lennon liked to play with the other players at his disposal.

Big Dave was a Big Unit, internationalist and was no doubt on the radar. We took a punt and, if I was to be cynical, I'd say he may have also been at Hibs to help Slivka settle in as they are team-mates in the national team.
Re: the watching him for a year remark ; they probably had been ... but they've probably been watching 200 odd other folk for a year as well. It's not as if, when introducing him they'd say "He's cheap and big, and we'll see how he gets on."
Similarly, I think we took a punt on Simon Murray and Danny Swanson too. None of them would be at Hibs right now if they hadn't been out of contract elsewhere. Nothing wrong in that. Might still work out of them, might not.
