    Addiction

I'm currently going through withdrawals from codein. Cut a long story short I got addicted to firstly prescription pain killers and then the over the counter stuff. Ended up on 96 tablets a day. Have been on 60mg codein continuous tablets for the past 7 years unsuccessfully trying to come off them many times. I'm now down to 3x 30mg normal tablets a day but struggling like ****, as you can see as I'm posting this at 4am! Anyone got any experience with this? Or any advice? Any help? It's the twitches in my hands and legs I can't cope with and end up using again to stop it. I'm desperate right now!!

Was chatting with a friend about something similar(ish). He is going to make contact with https://www.edinburghadp.co.uk/ they may be able to offer some useful advice, or signpost you to someone who can.

    Good luck mate.

Codeine withdrawal can feel absolutely awful. The good news is that it can pass quickly if you take good care of your overall health. Try a full body detox by consuming nothing but filtered water for several days. You'll feel absolutely awful for the first few days, but get beyond them and you'll thank yourself for it. Good luck.

Mikey , I know a wonderful lady who helps run recovery Kids.
It's an organisation primarily for the kids who have been affected by their parents addictions.
She would most certainly be able to at least point you in the right direction.

She's been there , made the mistakes and is fully recovered so wouldn't be judgemental.

Happy to pass on your number .
