Everton v Hadjuk Split on YouTube (NHC)

Watching via the Official Everton YouTube page. 1-0 Toffees then the Split fans kicked off and stopped play for 5 mins. Nutjobs.

Fair play to Everton making this available free. Surprised no channels picked it up. One for Scottish teams to think about in the future? Doubt it's affected the crowd much.

    Rooney has been tremendous.
Split fans are pretty notorious for acting like complete ****.

Everton well worth their lead. Hadjuk have a great support along the Dalmatian coast. Graffiti everywhere along the coast road and the locals all support them. Shame these bams let their club down.

Aye I got some great photos of murals etc when I was down that way a few years ago.
Lot of political issues between Croatian fans and their own FA over last few years, tends to result in actions like tonight as well as those seen in last euros

Remember home leg . 4-2 . away goals were problem then Blackley was sent off away . ( 3v0 defeat ) . Doubt many Hibs fans if any made it to Split .

Funnily enough when I was in Croatia a couple of years back the local taxi drivers talked about how corrupt the game was over there when we got them onto the topic of football.

I believe the ultras are trying to make UEFA investigate the corruption (good luck) by causing trouble everywhere.

Communist country then. No tv coverage listened on the radio
I think turnbull complained about the food they got?

Its a funny way to go about things. I mean, surely rioting and generally being a massive pain in the arse totally undermines any valid arguement you may have against the footballing authorities. People are just going to think you're part of the problem.

Good luck to them indeed, but it hasn't worked thus far for (the) rangers so I'm not all that optimistic it will help things along here (tongue firmly in cheek)

Great job by the Everton steward who reacted quickly to haul the young ball boy from his seat and away from trouble as it all kicked off around him.

Yes, it was definitely an early k.o. - I was doing my big brothers paper round after school with my mate and had a wee transistor radio with us all the way round trying to listen to it. I just know by the time I got home, we knew we were out.

Devastated at the result - we could have put it out of reach at Easter Road.

Dont recall the exact time the game was played.
    It was mid afternoon though.
I was working with a building contractor at the Western General
My gaffer on that job ( a home and away rangers man) allowed me to bring a radio to work to listen to the game.

That was the game that broke the camels back for Turnbull.
It was in the wake of that game that the demise of the Tornadoes really started.

Jim Herriot said the Hadjuk pitch was one of the worst he ever played on.
He made it sound like some of those awful pitches at Inverleith Park . Remember them?

    Edit:
Trying to think of a reason the game was played in the afternoon.
    Possibly no floodlights?

After the home game we were all talking about going to the final, which I think was being held in Salonika in Greece. Never seen that defeat coming. I think Eddie put a lot of the blame on Herriot.

It's high time EUFA starting clamping down on these clubs that continually cause trouble at European games, this mob are notorious all over Europe for bother, points deduction or kicked out of the competition is the only answer, paltry fines mean nothing.

haha, inverleith park !......if you stood on the goal line on one of the pitches you could only see the crossbar at the other end !!.....It was only later they put a pitch down on the flat bit near the dressing rooms.
    what a venue

That is true The pitches were also of the narrowest dimensions. 22 amateur players on that, lets say it made games rather tasty.

Scored one from the half way line one sunday, seemed to only be about 35 yards. The 18 yard box nearly reached the centre circle and the shy line!

Playing there in my late teens one of the opposition players badly broke his leg. Long before mobile phones and they didn't have a phone in the pavilion. Someone had to run to one of the nearby houses to find someone in so they could call 999. Guy was in agony for ages. It made front page headlines in the EEN on the Monday.

    Ah the good old days😱

I agree, very strange way to do it. Or maybe it's just their elaborate excuse?
